Yes you can, my pick up box is 6'6 and I went with the 7 deck and it has the 2 foot extension, I choose not to have the 8 foot deck since it would hang out pretty far from the back, but you can easily do it, the 7 foot deck goes flush with the back bumper on my gmc 3500 6'6 box
