I’m guilty of not always doing up my chin strap, but recognize how stupid it is to go with out it. Have watched on two intanances where guys have lost their helmets. I take my helmet off most times I stop so that my googles don’t fog or fill full of snow. Just bought a set of 509 ignite heated...
Can’t wait to hear the full story behind this. Pretty tough to imagine a scenario that justifies four guys leaving one behind. Other than the one being a colossal D-bag!
Great write up! We have two new 850’s in our group, one with same configuration as yours (and the same issue’s). The other is 163x2.6 and seems to run much cleaner.
P.S Great pic! Looks like the Alpine!

Rode Little Sands a week ago. Still some untouched areas if your prepared to work for it. Snowed a couple inches on Wednesday morning down at the Galloway Mill so should be at least that at elevation.
With a Polaris I would take the 2.6” with belt drive over their 3” and chain case for the same track length. Having ridden both and not seen a situation where the 3” really excelled, the 2.6” system feels and is lighter. I can’t speak to the Doo’s as I have only ridden a Gen 4 with the 3”...
Headed straight west from the shacks. Used a combination of the newly logged area, forestry road, techs exploration roads and drainages/trees. We had good conditions for getting around (enough snow for safe descents and set up enough for getting around). The key right now is getting elevation...
I'm trying Mobius X8 knee braces/guards this year. Have used EVS guards over top of knee brace in the past, but couldn't keep everything in place. The Mobius system look like a good all in one solution.
