    4 Stroke or nothing

Pretty sure the plastics interchange and they are the same width. Does the Sidewinder have the LED headlights that the King has? It does look as though the hoods are a bit different, as are the intercooler grilles. I see the MTX also has the QS3 front shocks, my King has Evols like Panzerdog’s

    4 Stroke or nothing

I believe they are a bit different, as the aftermarket intake from EVO for the sidewinder fits a bit tighter to the hood on the King Cat. The nose grille attaches the same way, but different styling. Would be interesting to put them side by side and compare.

    4 Stroke or nothing

You are correct. Fat fingered the year on the iPad

    4 Stroke or nothing

In 2017, the King Cat has the drop & roll, narrow boards and cowl intake - the Sidewinder got those items in 2019. Hood plastics, windshield, clutches, and paint/decals are the only other differences

Stuff to watch for on the 18+ cats.

The syncrodrive isn’t that bad to install - I’ve installed 4 myself

Tech Vest style torso protection plus lower body and back protection

I’ve spent a bit of time in ICU in years past - from off road racing and motocross. Last “event resulted in a dozen broken ribs and a shattered fox airframe, but it saved my ass. I’ve worn a tek vest for 15 years, and switched to the snopulse protect vest with armour when they were released a...

    New to me 18 SW

Congrats on the new SW. If you're not a fan of the laydown post, you have options: I installed the vertical post from a 06 Viper, using Canada Sled Parts bushings to reduce the slop - there's a lot of guys that will swap the viper post for your laydown setup - I personally hate the laydown...

    Sidewinder/ kingcat

Depends on year. A 17 King Cat is basically the same as an 18 Winder. (Narrow boards, drop & roll, and dash intake on the Cat). The plastics are a bit different, and as already mentioned, clutches. The Cat uses Team primary & secondary, Yamaha uses their own. Both are awesome sleds, if you’re...

Primary Clutch travel on 2019 Alpha, 2018 Cat?

If you use the speedwerx cup adaptor, you can run any earlier cat/polaris spring. The new team springs are slightly longer, so effective spring rates will be less unless you use the spacer. Could also use Thunder products glide washers...

    I’m buying 2 new sleds, 2019 Renagade XRS & MXZ-XRS, both 850’s, carbide question?

Re: I’m buying 2 new sleds, 2019 Renagade XRS & MXZ-XRS, both 850’s, carbide question I would recommend you look on DooTalk or HCS forums - Snow and Mud is more of a mountain sled crowd, not likely you'll find the answers here

Which S&Mer posts the most and rides the least?

I'm thinking I might be in the top ten these days. Due to work and other circumstances, I've only gotten a few weekends per season the last two years, and this upcoming season isn't looking much better. Normally put on 2500+ mountain miles a season

    2018 Sidewinder 162 Build

Sorry to derail this thread, but clutching a 4S turbo is a lot different then a 2S. Olaf A’s book was printed in the 80’s, and honestly, it was geared toward the flatland racer. I’ve personally tried various clutch kits over the years, and one size does not fit all, and different clutch designs...

    2009 m1000 bog

Top culprits: Reeds, pipe sensor that is failing, clutching, and fuel pressure too high. Throttle replay is important, the air temp sensor really isn't an issue on the M-series. On my M1K, I ended up using an adjustable regulator and a BD box to remove fuel from the lower end of the scale. As you...

Too many options, can there really be this many... newbi into sport.

^^^ well said, and I suggest you let your wife try a few machines to figure out what she wants. Although an 800 seems like the best place to be, there are many who don’t need or want one, and I can honestly say riding skills will progress much faster on a 600...
