2009 m1000 bog

I have a bad bog on my sled whenever it sits and idles for a few minutes. Once you get in it and ride for a few seconds you can stop and crack the throttle and she will take off like a bat out of hell. But idle it for a minute and and it falls flat on its face for a bit. But then clears up again. It’s all stock except for a jaws can and a black box air intake. Any help would be appreciated. Would rather fix it myself instead of paying the dealerships.

I had a few issues like that with my 2011 crossfire. Reeds were shot. Replaced them and cleared everything up.

Had a frayed power valve cable that was binding and not operating properly as well.

Few Things to try would be check over fuel pump and pickups, check that the linkage between the throttle bodies and oil pump has good free movement, and check over your clutch’s and make sure they are clean free of binding and no broken springs.

M1000 don’t like premium fuel. Run regular and they bog. M7 was the same way. M1000 bogged bad with premium fuel, so the dealer told me to switch to regular fuel and it cleared up.

Not an m 1000 but syxxes says to move the intakes air temp sensor closer to the throttle body on a proclimb. It made sense to me that when I stop the engine heat will rise and throw the air temp reading off. I hope to try moving the sensor soon. SLP makes a cable to allow the sensor relocate.

Top culprits: Reeds, pipe sensor that is failing, clutching,and fuel pressure too high. Throttle replay is important, the air temp sensor really isn't an issue on the M-series. On my M1K, I ended up using an adjustable regulator and a BD box to remove fuel from the lower end of the scale. As you didn’t mention if this is a new issue or how many miles it’s tough to diagnose online

It sounds to be loading up at idle, first check the idle speed when warm. If its to slow that will cause a bog. I try to idle mine 1600-1800. Check the throttle safety switch cable adjustment. These are a couple free things before going deeper. Other than warming it up I do try to avoid idling, after a hard pull i will let it idle until the rpm stabilizes and shut it down. Those shaking M1K don't idle well.
