If your running shallow water - like around GP go heavy duty with a proven pump design for your needs. Some V8 heavy duty 8 deg boats can run just as shallow as the annoying sportjets. And some V8 boats with the wrong combo can't get on...

Last fall on the Murrey River in my buddys V8 Firefish we used it a few times in one day, if it was not for that winch we would still be there ..... no not that bad
but the Chainsaw winch could pull it right across gravel bars back to the main channel with ease - made sure I always have mine in...
Mine has a 50 gal tank - good for a couple days - LS3 and 212 combo is really good on fuel tho if driven decent.
My Harbercrafts I had held 29 gal and could run from Rocky to bridge on trunk rd and back on a full tank 6.5 to 7 gal/hr fuel use 240SJ and 200 Opti.

7 pounds of boost, 2863 gtx turbo with tial housing and divorced waste gate, and the best part: full standalone fueling program! 50/50 fuel here in this vid. Full race and turn it up but will require some more clutching with that level of boost.

I have actually broke one of the awesome 1/2" heim joints on my TNytro and seen what happens - lets just say it sucks + I had a trip planned so had to buy another sled.....
Mine did not break from improper installation or a hard hit - I was cruising along and cracked the throttle...
