Some cylinders have a special coating on them and can't be bored out. I think you can send the cylinder away to be re coated, not 100% sure though. If it is a regular cylinder you could put a new sleave in it if needed. You need to take it apart to see what the cylinder looks like first.
If the rings and jug are bad, you'll probably have to bore the cylinder and put in a new piston and rings and gaskets in. Once you have it apart you'll know. Where to get the parts partly depends on what machine you're working on?
Where can I get a cheap compression guage? I don't expect it will get used very much, although it needs to be better than a powerfist (princess auto)
Thanks.
Jetting:
wide open throttle jetting.... change main jet
1/4-3/4 throttle needle clip position
idle to 1/4 throttle pilot jet and air screw
Main jet larger numbers are richer smaller numbers leaner
To change your needle clip position.
to make leaner you raise the clip (needle sits lower)
for...
I use to have a 660 grizzly, it use to sputter and fart in deep water/mud. Someone told me it was steam getting in the airbox from the hot motor, whatever the reason it did it from day 1 when it was brand new.
It is a polaris puller, I usually put some grease in, thread the puller in and use an impact, comes right off. There was a guy on gen3usa.com that put snokels on a scrambler, you can check there.
I'm thinking about getting a set of 25" zillas for a scrambler. What do they ride like on the trail? Are they rough and nasty compared with the bear claws I'm running now? I'm not building a mudder, I want a quad that is good all around, mud trails, everything. Thanks!
I'm sure it has been ridden hard, but I have heard of the frame braking on these before as well. Surprized can-am didn't beef up the frame on the newer ones... or maybe they did?
