Road renshaw on the weekend great snow 3 to 4 feet of snow lots of digging left two sleds in the back got them out the next day, we where the last group out and ran into the groomer saturday night. Went in on sunday to get the sleds and the trails sucked and their was only about 50 sleds in that day. The local sled group should keep a eye on the guy or the company they contract because he's pissing a lot of sledders off. Alot of them are thinking of not paying because how bad a job is being done, I don't agee with this but I don't blame them because with all the sleds that where up the trail on the weekend and if they didn't make 5000 dollars plus I would be surprised and they give us these type of trail conditions. The locals should keep a eye on who's taking care of the trails and make sure they are in good shape because i'm sure the sledders who go their spend alot of money. Maybe they should take a leason from glen a spindrift because if u need anything he goes out of his way to help and u can hear about him at the shack if anyone is having a problem. U should look at the sled shack not open are they because they didn't go out of their way and this makes a differance because u have good areas to go to and the snow is usualy good and the gooming is starting to pissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss alot of peaple of and this is just the beginning of the season and this is not fair to the peaple who do care and i'm sure their is quite a few so u should nip this in the butt before it get worse.

It may have been too warm for the groomer to do a proper job. You should probably post this in the McBride riding area section and you'll probably get an explanation as to the trail condition.

Barton you don't know what your talking about, you forgot to mention it rained for two days straight up to 25-3000ft and it was +2 to -3 degrees. Definetly ideal grooming conditions buddy!! If you think for a minute Hotrod is sitting back and not giving a ch!t about the condition of the trails or what the riders think then you haven't got a clue. The trails were in excellent condition and then mother nature pulls in plus temperatures and rain and all of a sudden good goes to bad "just like that"!! He personally called me and was VERY concerned with the changing weather conditions and the havoc it would bring!!! Anybody associated with trail making and grooming knows that warm temperatures make it tough to keep a well groomed trail, throw in rain and it's basically impossible add a hundred plus riders.....well you get the picture....i hope!!!! I know that since the grooming started 28 days ago he maybe hasn't groomed 5 of those days, so if you think he's sitting on his laurels counting his bucks well i guess your entitled to your opinion but i know for a fact he's NOT. X2 Higgins, at least it wasn't hotrod that left a female behind when she got stuck and never came back out to look. Thank god for a cabin that she was able to sit and stay warm from 10:30 /11am untill after 5pm and didn't know where you guys went, I believe she said she was your daughter Barton. Maybe that should be mentioned also. Oh well it was a good day of riding.

Definately hard to make a good trail when its warm and raining. I have rode renshaw enough to know that the trail is always in the best condition that the weather will let it be. The groomer does what he can. I know when we were there 2 weeks ago the trail was like a highway.

if you check Barry's profile you will notice that he joined in 2009 and hasn't made any friends. It's no wonder.

Quit your bitchin. It's not like the groomer operator does a chitty groom job on purpose. He's obviously doing the best he can for the conditions. You should probably just stick to riding the parking lots, maybe those are smooth enough for you.

i am guessing close to 500 sleds in 3 days and yes the trail was crap on sunday. most people will never complain on a well done job, but to charge for a disservice is not cool. just saying!!!!!!!! i think i will take a credit next time i am there.

I don't know anything about grooming but renshaw sucked sunday. That being said it was way better then clemina was on saturday , so someone must be doing something right in McBride. Thanks for all the great work.I could not imagine riding renshaw with no groomer.I will happily pay the 20 bucks

I know Hotrod and what kind of work he does..He is serious about the grooming and looking after people the best that he can.. The weather dictates what kind of shape the trails will be in.. if its above freezing the snow can't set up.. therefore, yes it punches out quickly.. In a perfect world the temp would drop to -20 immediately after the grooming is finished, set up overnight and be like a highway to ride on the next morning while enjoying perfect bluebird skies. But its not. Remember that this is still early season and that were more than blessed to have the conditions that we have so far..The trails wont always be perfect but I know for a fact that the local club along with Hot Rod will do the very best we can... Every rider is important to us here. We have been given a little slice of paradise and dont mind sharing it with anyone who wants to come...

A lot of you guys are keyboard Heros and like to run your mouths behind a keyboard. With the conditions bad and KNOWING they are bad for from then they should of left well enough alone. It is bull to pay full pop for a service that is not the greatest. He should of just knocked down the bumps vs pulling the drag up and down! Also leaving his daughter behind was a decision she made and didn't want to ride with the group. Once your facts are straight and you know all side to the story then comment. I'm not picking sides just stating facts!

Grooming 101: The only thing you learn in this course is "everyone can doo a better job and offer the best advice to the groomer operator" who just happens to have 1000's of hours of experience on those trails in all of the various conditions.

To all groomer operators out there; keep up the great work and keep a smile on your face as it is appreciated by most! :xmas2004_15:

The facts are from his daughter and told use from her own mouth, that she got stuck and didn't know where they went and no one came back. So if you would like to call her a lier and know she was full of bull crap then go ahead. I don't know her at all and asume she was saying the truth. There were lots of people there also when she was talking, and you must of been there then to know her story. Good luck with the keyboard.

Yes guys we left her behind because she didn't want to ride in the conditions we were in and she couldn't see and yes she got stuck after we had left and I would like to thank the guys that got her out. And I would like to thank the guys who stayed with her until she found out what happened to us. Also with the trail I was not the only guy complaning obout the trail in the cabin that day, but if they know the conditions are that bad they should give a discount of 5 bucks or a credit for the next time u ride this paying the full nickle for a shitty product it's not fair to us. Yes guys i've been on snow and mud since 2009 but I ride with my kids and I do ride with alot of different groups but with my kids and thats been 8 yrs we have been up in the mountains. Yes I have seen worse conditions but I was just saying what I heard in the shack that alot of guys were pissed off , I didn't agree with not paying for the trail pass but I understand why they were saying it. I run my own company and I'm the same as glen at spindrift I go out of my way to keep my clients happy and help the best I can because u keep pissing peaple off and sooner or later they won't pay or they go somewhere else. If the conditions are bad they should inform the sledder so he can decide for himself wether or not he wants to go up at least he no's what he's getting himself into, not pay the full nickle and then find out for himself how bad the conditions are.

I got a question do u pay for a bad steak at full price or do u complain because if u don't complain it just stays shitty.
