30ish + years ago, stayed at Highwood House, rode with my old man on either a Puma or Pantera..? Rode our friends Kitty cat into the trees in the parking lot. First time on my own sled was somewhere in the early 80's on a '79 340 jag, rode lots in those days at Cataract and the 'Pass'. 1987 rode 13 weekend in a row in the CNP with our dealer friend, thought I was in heaven. Didn't ride in BC until the early 90's on a Prowler, ...Radium, Forester I think?

She will stand and watch as you toss around a chainsaw with one hand from the top of a ladder in the box of a truck with a leg wrapped around the same 2' diameter tree you intend to cut down but sledding in the hills scares her????????

My first trip was two years ago, went to Valemount and hit up clemina on my 07 Dragon that I took from a 121'' to a 136''. Man did I ever work like a ba*%tard!!! But I manage to make it to like 7500' and the veiw was enough to hook me for life. I am now waiting on my Pro RMK 163 to arrive and I will ride it like theres no tomorrow every chance I can get to the hills. I love it live it and will every season until I am 6' under!!

I have been pretty lucky as I grew up in the mountains (Golden) First sled was a 77 TNT 440 Skidoo. Then I had and SS440 Yamaha. I used to hate changing jets half way up the mountain as the sled ran like a POS the higher we went.

My first ride in the hills was 2003 mcbride. We went into lucile and after 2 days of beautiful snow, my 97 XC 600 tripple 136x2 challenger went everywhere i wanted to and i remember thinking "how could it get any better than this". I have been an addict ever since and have had my mind blown every time we find a new area to go. Here is a pic of that trip in the buttefly bowl and the next pic it the hill ya gotta climb to get out. The pics are from different trips but it gives you an idea of what i had to climb my first trip to the mountains on a 600.

My first ride was about 6 years ago at Blue Lake in Sicamous with a borrowed 1995 Ski doo 500 mxz with a short track and not much paddle to take about. I pretty much got to follow because I was not going to be off the beaten path without getting stuck which i certainly did quite a few times. At least is was light and easy to get unstuck with. Been hooked since then and just bought a new 2012 Doo. Sold the 08 to a buddy who I will be taking out for the first time this season.

Last year (26 YO) i bought a new sled (thinking i may go to the mountains) but mostly for around home a 146 summit X ETEC. First day in Revy i was nervous as i didnt know where the hell i was going, had a great crew that taught me the ropes and i am hooked for life. Just wished i had gone once before the new purchase as i would have bought a 154 forsure and most likely the freeride as it is more my riding style.

I am at 500km of mountain riding and counting, not bad for a couple trips.

I should have been doing this years ago....

Was in valemount feb 07 I was 21 and was on my 07 phazer mtx with an aftermarket intake and aftermarket exhaust, we had some awesome snow and needless to say that phazer was to the bar everywhere it went. We rode clemina the first day and chappel the next two days, and there was hardly anyone around so we had untracked powder everywhere we went........ rode twice more that year and a few times in 08 then.... had a couple years of injury plauged winters 09 and 10 (bad knee), couple surgeries later, bought an 11 m8 153 in 0ct 10 and got back into it, can't wait to get out this december for the first ride of another awesome year:D

7 years ago, had a 99 rmk 700 136". went to revy with some friends. they were playing on the sidees of the trail going up, so i tried too. that didn't work out so well for me. i came from quadding, and approached my first hill like a quad, a little slow and as i slowed down gave it more gas, and more gas, and more gas. unitl finally i had dug a nice coffin. tried lifting it straight out, since i had NO idea how to dig it out, and that didn't work so well either. finally buddy comes back and helps me and away we went. honestly, after that very first stuck, i probably would have paid someone to take that sled and just give me a ride back to the hotel. once i got out though and kept going, it was and still is a total blast!!!!!!!

Last year was my first year in the mountains on my 2006 rev 151 but i had had flat land sleds for about 5 years.. 1995 ext580.. thing flew! still have it. but first day up with a fellow S&M member was allen and we went way to early in nov. ended up riding mud on the way up and getting stuck everywhere on the hill from lack of base and snow. finished in belle and it turned out to be a first and still great riding weekend. now im itching for snow..... yeh im that guy that pisses people off at work wishing for snow in july.. :)

6 years ago went out to fernie with my 2000 700 powder special. first climb i went up about half way and blew up my stator. second day borrowed the spare sled which was i think a 2000 summit 700 while the cat dealer in town repaired mine. been hooked ever since and getting my boys out west now. only regret is that i didn't start mountain riding earlier.
