I would like to know what guys are getting with a gasser . 6.2 ford. 6.4 hemi. And 6.0 chev hauling a sled deck and 2 machines? A combined weight of say 1500 to 2000 lbs. Is a gasser enough to run around with a deck or is the mpg still not so great?

Depends on wind and stuff. I found with my 6.0 L but 10mpg was close 4.10 gears one size bigger tires than stock It was terrible and a small gas tank to boot

As for comparisons our 16 duramx towing 25k toy hauler 44' we averaged 6.9mpg over a 3000mile trip, I don't baby it on the rds with ussally 15 to 20km over speed limit, and interstate pulled it at the 80mph posted speed limit.. Mileage is not the best, but handled the load well and Jake and tranny brake holds weight back great in the mountains

we pulled the sled trailer with three sleds and tools 675 miles to Wyoming (14k) this year and averaged 7.4mpg at a average speed of 137km /hr with the 17 duramax..

First time pulling something with my new ecoboost.....found out it pulls great but LOVES the fuel. Just a small open trailer with a side by side on it; 2500lbs total. Got 22 l/100km, and 28 l/100km with a bit of a headwind. Ouch.

My buddy's gas Ford 250 got 22-24 litres per 100 with 2 sleds on the deck and our gear last week to valemont and back. Not sure what engine it has.

My diesel got the same on the trip before with the deck empty, but with a steel frame loaded 4 place.

My gas truck (hemi) is older (07) but burns twice the fuel as my diesel.

Pulled the holiday trailer to Vancouver and back with the gas truck a few years ago. Needed to stop at every town for fuel and the engine screams the whole way!

Are you saying when someone tries to pass you you're one of those guys that speeds up?

Bahaha, if a diesel truck wanted to pass you they would... sorry that 6.4l isn't better power than a larger displacement diesel

Can't comment on the 6.4 hemi but with a Ford 6.2 and 4:30 gears no diesel was going buy .
Had a 2011 crew cab long box and the thing pulled like crazy but at much higher rpm.
Most forget about the narrow rpm range on Diesel's.
I have a 2012 Duramax also and have had many Ford diesels . FYI

So your truck with sled deck with 2 sleds beats up on a diesel with 2 sleds on a deck?

I owned a 11dmax and now a 6.2l fm and not a chance I'd stick with a diesel when pulling a little load. Empty is different story.

My wife's 2.0 ecoboost will beat up on all your HD trucks... when empty...
