ride in more snow.... jk.. from what I have read it is a common problem. There is lots of info about it on TY 4 Stroke - Totallyamaha :: Index

The most common fix I have read is changing up the wheels to doo wheels which are about 5mm larger. I think there is a little more to it than just swaping wheels though. You can also get a marginal snow kit from yamaha that adds extra wheels. I am running my mtx nytro just stock for now and I am going to see how my wear is after a few miles... did 65kms in low snow snow conditions and they seem good still, but only time will tell.

Ive got a 97 mm with lots of clicks on it with the same high faxes, changed the tencer strap by having it loose to help lift the front end in deeper snow because I raised the ass end 2" and put more weight on the front end . I have found that the high faxes are wearing faster but I need this because of the way I modefied the suspention. With your sled I would tighten the tensor strap up a bit & this would take the load of the high faxs. U will find the steering will be a little harder so u need to play with it until u find the balance that works for u GOOD LUCK

I have a 07 apex mtx with 1500 ks and just put on my third set of sliders-the last set were the extra wear graphite set and i think they lasted less than the oem set. It seems to be picking on the middle of the skid and on the curve espetially-I also have a 08 nytro mtx and thought i was doing better with these sliders-at 1300 ks -on inspection the straight part of the slider had about 80 % left so i thought i was laughing-track tention was good-at about 1500 ks checked track and wear was the same but this time i happen to look up at the curve of the slide and i was already starting to wear the alluminum rails away on one side and very close to the same on the other--yet the wieght bearing section of the slider still had very little wear--i was able to slide a new set of sliders on the rails even with the slight damage to the one rail-im ordering marginal snow kits for both units and definately keeping a closer eye from now on--

Your track is to tight. Loosen it up. When I got my MTX, the dealer said I should tighten the track after 1000 km or so. I did and the next ride I used about 60% of my hyfax. Loosened the track a bit after that and rode 3000 km with the remaining 40%.

Hope this helps.
