yamaha or ski-doo?

cant makemy mind up! rode summits for ever, but after 2 motor jobs last year, thinking about a nytro with a supercharger, and give the wife the 07 with the rebiult motor.
still hesitating about the 4 stroke.

You had a lemmon. The 07 summit is known for its blowups. If you stick with a new summit it will not dissapoint you and be a reliable sled. But the yamahas are always going to outlast a 2 stroke no matter what. This is like comparing apples to oranges. If you want big power and reliablilty with a lot of added weight go with the yamaha. If you want a fun easy riding reliable sled then go with the summit. The difference is the summit won't last you 20,000km but it will be easier on your body.

Those turbo nytros are animals. Most people ride one and their hooked. not everyone though.

Hmm everyone always speaks of this yamaha reliability? in stock form they have to be the most reliable. however I recall last season in the parking lot of blue lake one $40000 yamaha backfiring and sputtering and another wouldnt even start coming straight out of the heated enclosed trailer. Not saying this is true for all of them but the enclosed trailer they were in had a popular yammy dealer written all over the side of it and you would think there boosted thumpers would be at least able to make it out of the parking lot. Good thing they were also a doo dealer and fired up there stock looking etecs and pushed (with great effort) the boosted yammy junk back in the trailer hahaha. Yamaha reliability hahahaha in stock heavy underpowered form i guess.

Over 25000 km on 3 nytros since 2007. All boosted. Towed my 1 st time last year when my header cracked on the trail down. I did change a couple injectors. One brain box. But I rode out on my own power all but once. 2 of them were stage 2 and one low boost. Just like any mod sled you have to be carefull who builds it

I doubt they sell both Brands........its against the BRP contract to sell a competitive (snowmobile) product alongside theirs in Canada.........USA is another story. Its ok......there are haters everywhere.

Well said Randy. I was going to interject on this is well. One thing we know is the French don't like Japanese sleds on the same floor as there own in this country anyway. Something about culinary differences? Lol.

There is no comparison between riverside yami and Honda side. The blue side actually has good service techs and turn around time.
