I don’t claim hp numbers...run bout 16-19 psi when climbing chutes...my guess be 270-300 hp range they claim.

That explains a lot, your not going to be able to control big wheelies with a 163 with that kind of power with out a scissor lock and some fancy foot work and throttle control. Its all about rider skill's even with the proper set up in your case.

I'ed get the skid setup and then run just enough boost to get the job done, if the snow is more or less setup your going to have a hell of a time controlling the sled. On deep day's then yes crank it up.

What boost setting to use will greatly depend on how well you know your sled but i'ed be willing to bet 14-15psi will be better then 16-19psi in most spring setup condition's unless you are extremely good at controlling the throttle during the climb.

I have seen it many times guys hitting a chute with too much speed and power and when they get into the thick of it where it is all trenched up they find them self's out of control and bouncing around. The sled either wheelie out or it completely turns on the rider.

I wondered about the 163 compared to 174, I will try 14-15 with spring super stiff in the rear and see how that works for me. Thanks for the help appreciate it. Don’t think cr sells a scissor lock for m-10, least can’t find it on the website anyway.

Oh you have the M10, so no scissor on it, just straight arm. You should be able to set up the rear spring to help control, you just want it stiff enough to allow 4-6" of ski lift, so don't go super stiff.

On a side note if your serious about cresting some of the chutes try to be one of the first riders up. Its always easier before it get's all trenched up.

No I originally bout off a guy in westlock, but then totally re-did the whole thing for mountain riding. Gotta just buy the parts or custom build parts myself then install myself cause everything costs so much now days.

Why don’t you call baker and get some different rear blocks made to limit the wheelie? Providing it looks similar to the picture I attached?

Redline engine performane also fabricates an adjustable skid. Can adjust it to ride smoothly on the whooped out trails to coupled for climbing. Utilizes ice age rails and raptor shocks. Called rpm full suspension. Not sure if they have anything manufacturered for the big four strokes. I am sure thar Dave and his crew can fab one up.

Stiffen your rear shock. That skid has held the skis down on some pretty big powered apexes back in the day. Give Daryl a call at 1403-254-8686 if you have any questions.

Home from Yamafest 2018 and it was a blast! Awesome snow conditions, Weather was decent mix of clear/clouds/snow, tons of Sidewinders and Vipers on the Hills more then I thought I’d see that’s for sure!! Met a bunch of the Instagram Riders and Snow n Mud riders on the hill that was great, nice community off of this forum for sure. Lots of nice builds even nicer in person!

HUGE shoutout to Randy and the Yamaha TEAM for putting on the Event, Food, Prizes. Definitely going next season and encourage everyone to aswell! Even got a little seat time on a Snowbike at the Demo Tent. Little underpowered compared to the sidewinder though lol......... now time for the pics/videos we took in our group.
