So with Cat jumping ship from Suzuki to Yamaha, it kind of got me wondering.
Suzuki makes a great engine and has done well for years.

Would they ever come out with their own sled? I think that'd be cool.

Highly doubtful. Suzuki is hurting right now, the tsunami really dealt a big blow to them, their ATV lineup hasn't been updated since 09', their North American auto division just declared bankruptcy recently and sleds are a very small market in the big scheme of things. Don't get me wrong, Suzuki is capable of building and has built some really wicked and rude stuff but unless things pick up for them in the next few years, I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything from them.

In chatting this past weekend after sledding, one of the guys said that he had read/heard that Artic Cat had to drop Suzuki engines as they were not ready for emission control levels for 2014. Anybody else hear this?

That was my next question was as to why Cat would drop suzuki? emmissions?, Financally if suzuki isn't doing so well? I'm kinda sad to see cat drop them,

I'm thinking if they ever did get back into the sled market, I'd go Suzuki, depending on chais and suspension.

Perhaps Cat has different engine technology that they have decided to move forward with and Suzuki did not fit in to that business model............:woohoo1:

From what I've read previously, arctic cat is deciding not to renew their contract with Suzuki and is building engines in house now. With the success of the 1100T I don't think their two stroke will suffer much in reliability over the 800 HO. I'll try and find a link where I read that.
