Hopefully that magnificent piece of artwork is securely attached to the wall. Wouldn't want anyone walking off with that.

Ew. Geuss the previous tenants left that there, and the maid didn't see it? Or the maid never cleaned the room.......

I've got one for you tho.
A few years ago we went down to New Orleans, and decided to drive through/stop in St. Louis on the way back home. By the time we stopped to get a hotel room it was super late, so we took what we could get. I was a smoker at the time, and the people I was with were not smokers. So I took a smoking room. Big mistake. My room had metal bars over the window and probably about 10 deadbolts going down the door. There was a black "porn" box ontop of the tv, that, and I kid you not, had white crusty stuff on it. There was a blood stain on the chair in the corner. And to make all of it worse......there is a sign on the bed that says "when this sign is left on the bed the maid will not wash the sheets. we are trying to be eco conscious". Soooo does that mean they didnt wash the sheets?!
It was by far the creepiest hotel I had ever seen.

Got a call last week from the Days Inn in Revy asking us if we will return there door? Lol. When we checked in that weekend I noticed right off there was no door between the bedroom and kitchenette area in our suite. So whoever took the door from room 109 the previous week to us getting there you better take there door back. HaHa.

Room was clean just don't think there cleaning staff is not on the ball. There has been times where they only make 1 of the 3 beds and we are always asking for more shampoo as they never leave us any for day 2 and 3. They wanted to know if we had a big party and ripped it off? I said Geezuz we are 2 old guys and a kid. We were in bed by 8:30! Lol.

years ago there was a conference in Calgary and every single room was booked (I forgot to prebook) I think the hotel was called Olympia just down the road from the DQ as you leave Calgary going west. Anyway, lobby stunk like cat piss so that should have been my first clue to turn around and leave. Anyway, got a room and could not believe my eyes. A towel wrapped around the toilet bowl soaking wet. But the gross part were the old blood stained sheets and some one had covered the smoke detector with tin foil. It must have been on there for years as it fell onto my bed and the tin foil had this waxy coating all over it from smoke and god knows what else.

How about staying in a hotel in Thailand and when you flush the toilet the water just went into the water channel surrounding the hotel and people would pay to feed koi fish in that same water. So I packed up and went to another "hotel" This time the styrofoam tiles were bulging above my bed and something big was in the ceiling walking. Turns out it was a big rat. Gives me the goose bumps thinking about that sucker breaking thru and landing on me while sleeping!!

We had three bad ones in Italy.

My favourite was on a ferry between Sicily and Naples. The room was so small your bags had to be on the top bunk or you couldn't get to the door. The bathroom was about the same size as a camper bathroom but instead of a tub it was just a shower with a tile floor connected to the hole bathroom. For some reason the shower put out 3 times as much as the drain could handle so you could only shower for about 5 minutes before it would get to the bottom of the door and start leaking into the room. As the ship moved you could see the water sloshing back and forth on the floor.

The seasickness coupled with awful food and a drive up the Amalfi coast in a greyhound like bus got the entire group except a couple people puking sick.

Blood has to be, just has to be the most disturbing thing to find a hotel room.
Gives you that horrible "what happened here" "am I in a horror movie?" feeling.

When I was logging south of Breton, we stayed at the Big T hotel just off the highway, I was kept up most of the night because the mice were running across the headboard of my bed. You could hear them skittering along the wooden headboard...I was so mad, that I checked out the following week. :) unfortunately the mouse room was better than he alternative of the old hotel in Breton, 1 bathroom for the whole floor.

i should add that this was many years ago ( don't want to slander them if they're still open ) :)
