why does it feel impossible to put the head plus base onto my piston ?

Working on my rxl 650 and was putting my base plus head back onto my crank nd as I was sliding my head down the studs it came to the piston and stoped !
It looks like its impossible to put it back on why can't I make it fit am I doing somthing wrong?

it's trying sometimes with 2 guys and a monoblock twin, I can imagine it's a tad more difficult with a triple.

Do you just push it on ?
The rings on the top of the piston is stopping the pisont yo slide in !
Looks like ill wreck the rings if I force it on

you have to squeeze the rings tight to the piston, making sure the rings are in the right spot with the locator pin between the ring ends. on each piston, as you try to install the jugs.

It take alot of patience and a couple of extra fingers to squeese the rings tight to the piston in the right place as teeroy has said. YOU MUST be very carefull or you will screw it BIG TIME. Never force it on. I would recommend you get some very knowledgeble help before you continue. This could get bad fast

Make sure you get the proper torque specs and torque everything in the proper sequence too!If you start guessing now it will be a waste of money!

I deffently asked for the torque specs for my machine in a different thread ! Thanks for the information though muchly appreaciated !
I have it all put back together and started first pull and took her for a rip !
Felt better then it did before !
