Why buy new?

****ty deal, know what's wrong with it?

I know they definitely have snow injestion issues if you don't silicone a few spots.

And just for the record a downed sled of any kind is a piss off, waste of a day for the entire group.
Something to do with tps. Tripped 35 times and they adjusted?also snow and ice in intake. That part is pretty crappy quality. Sealed that up and we will try again.

You can unplug that TPS sensor inside the flipper block and just run a tether.

I wish they would just do a factory tether instead of that dumb micro switch.

And yes that air intake is total bs.

Back 6 +\- years ago I said that no way in hell would I pay $1500-2000 less then new for used sled that’s a year old and has 700 plus kms.”I would buy new first”
Lots sold used back then for that and good but didn’t make any sense to me.
First year is $5g less +/-then new , second year a bit more till they hit the 1/2 price mark.
Now a few years later it only makes sense to buy non-current or used unless you need the new iron and have the coin.
The snow checking thing is a complete gimmick. IMO
Especially if they have a year or two of warranty left.

To me buying new is all I can do, buying a used sled could mean missing out on a few rides or having to deal repair shops.
I bought an 18 Cat last fall and have had no complaints, it has been a solid runner. It has full coverage and if something happen I will just drop it off and pick it up when they are done.
I know that it is an expensive sport and there are ways to save a few bucks but I am not a mechanic and seriously have no clue how to fix things. So I need to rely on shops or friends.
My sled spends the entire season on my Tacoma and is ready to play when I come home. That works good for me cause my job takes me all over the country and some times out of country. I have literally flown from Halifax to Comox then to Kelowna to drive to Sicamous or Revelstoke all on the same day, just to ride one or two days. Then rush off to trade the truck for the car and then to be flown else where.

I will be replacing my Cat at the end of its warranty for another new unit.

I thought you ordered a boondocker turbo for your cat? The boost will be more fun than having warranty.

Is that a new track design? I thought the big double paddle configuration didnt work that well in the past?

Just because it has warranty doesn't mean you don't have to deal with repairs, it just means ( not always the case) you shouldn't have to pay for repairs. Parts could be backordered , shop is busy , whatever, it could be down and you miss out on riding. $2-$5000 savings for not having the current model buys a lot of repairs or accessories. Each to their own.

I just received his Boondocker kit Friday. I guess that was then and this is now about the warranty. Warranty void once boost is mounted you do realize that, right bud.

FYI. i do have a very close relationship with the Cat dealer here as they are both Cat and Yamaha and they allow me to carry the warranty work for them. All they need is the old parts back and at times pictures.

Excuse my ignorance Lund but do you run a shop or just have a kick ass personal shop? And where did you learn so much about sleds?
