I think I know what the problem is but I'm hoping that I am wrong. I recently had my 750 Brute Force stall out on me while the exhaust was under water. I was towed back to the truck and had it boosted to get it started to get it on my truck. I changed the oil on it and ran it 2 times, then changed the oil and filter with new stuff. It ran well and the oil is not creamy. Now what is happening is that when I run it and rev it up, a thick white smoke with a smell of burning oil bellows out the exhaust. Did I blow my head gasket or is it something else? I was hoping that it was just some left over moisture but the more I run it, the more I am worried. I heard that if it was coolant leaking in through the gasket that the exhaust would smell sweet. Anyone able to help me out?

Check your air box out. There may be some oil in there thats going into the carbs or throttle body.

On the weekend I was climbing a long steep hill and I started to blow white smoke but it was comming out of the crank case vent into the air box. The way to solve my problem is to not fill it up all the way, maybe half on the dip stick.

Hope for the best

I opened my air box and pulled out the filter to find a good 250 ml of creamy oil down by the air intakes. Cleaned it out and the smoke went away. Go figure. Thanks all you guys for the help!

white = water .. your blowing out water tip the bike up for awhile.. check your oil for water as well.

if those 2 things are done and it keeps smoking white then sounds like your coolant is getting in the motor.

White smoke comming our of your exhaust is usually a sign that your rings need to be replaced. Do it now before you scratch the walls, then it'll have to be bored... Brutes hate water! If your oil ever looked milky you should flush it at least 6 times. Comming in threw the exhaust is about the best way to take water in but of course its still not good.

The only way coolant can get into your oil is if you completly blow a head gasket. I've never seen a 4wheeler blow a head gasket except for RIGHT after it was put back together if it was done wrong or something. and if the head gasket is blown when you punch it it will blow coolant EVERYWHERE, out the overflow, you will know it.

Oil in the Air box on the brutes blows white smoke. I dont know why its white but it Every one I ride with has blow this white smoke all due to oil.

This happens from being to full of oil, running long WOT runs and climbing steep long hills.

There is a mod you can do. Its called the catch can mod. It re-routes your crank case vent back into the top of the cylinder.
