Why do you want Ethanol? 25% less efficient than regular fuel.

more than likely for 10% more money. another sales ploy to keep the greenies green.

???
Ethanol is bad for sleds. It's an alcohol and a potent solvent. It also dissociates (separates) from fuel because its only held in suspension, and it attracts water (much of which comes from condensation in the tank). None of this is good for an engine. Ethanol belongs in cars doing the daily commute in California, not in a snowmobile in Canada IMO.

Stay away from Husky, Mohawk, I think Petro Canada has some ethanol in their fuel?? maybe, not sure don't really buy fuel there ever.

I buy Shell Gold or Esso Super (or whatever their top grade is) here in AB, and Chevron 94 in BC where I can get it.

This is spot on, Chevron has the best gas for sure. At the Cranbrook location, there is usually a line up of trucks every weekend morning with people filling sleds. During the winter, of course.

.
Chevron gas has (or did have) ethanol in it now too, according to the stickers on the pumps in Burns Lake. 94 octane might not, but I'd double check that.

does anyone really know why they make this stuff anyways other than to keep the greenies and the us farmers alive. with the new pick up it says to run it if possible in the owners manual. then if you read on about 2 pages later it says if you run more than a couple tanks back to back without putting in reg. fuel engine damage may occur and warrenty is void. wtf.

Only reason is to fuel the 'Food for Fuel' fight...

Ethanol has been around for many many years even in Canada, you just werent aware of it since it was never really advertised. I used to build feedlots, and we built the Poundmaker feedlot in SK about 25 years ago, and that feedlot was built around an Ethanol plant. They produced Ethanol for Husky and Mowhawk for years now but it has been used in such a small percentage that it was never really talked about.

Now we are going to mandate it...Here's the catch, we produce less than 1% in Canada right now, but we are mandating 5% by September...Where will the other 4% come from?? We will be forced to buy it from the US or other foreign suppliers to meet our own governments mandates...Get ready to pay more for crappier fuel...

The Food for Fuel fight is just what it sounds like...there are advocacy groups out there fighting that we are using foodstock to produce fuel, and if it continues we will slowly run out of fuel...Very interesting reading, and they make some super valid points. What if you can sell a Barley crop for $8/bu for Ethanol, but only $5/bu for food...Where would most people sell?? That is the arguement...
