I live in BC and can't wait for the oil to be cut off...I'll gladly pay a financial penalty for a while to teach the left coast hypocrites a valuable lesson. I would love to see $3.00 liter gas prices for a couple of months.

Holly crap is this really happening. I to support the action plan, going to Oder 20000 litres of fuel before this hike hits....should last a month or so and hopefully things get ironed out or I’m moving to the mother land.

It's not like you will be buying gas in BC anyway, there will be waiting times at the gas stations in the Pass.

It will have no effect on the protest everything types. They don't run businesses or own cars and I'm sure they aren't the ones paying utilities for the bedroom or basement they rent. It will just hurt and piss off the actual productive BC residents that are trying to get by like everyone else, the ones that actually support pipelines and economic development.

Although I agree with you it’s the special interest groups/protesters whether or not they have any legitimacy that make the news and the government caves in and caters to them. It’s infuriating.

He will use this threat to hold Trudeau accountable if they don’t approve the pipeline in May. Yes he will shut it down sometime this summer and will align it with some sort of maintenance work (lots of heads up).
It will be a more symbolic gesture than actually having any impact at all since everyone will maximize their tankage. This will hurt BC and AB in the short term, but is absolutely needed to gain the attention it needs as a country.
