He will use this threat to hold Trudeau accountable if they don’t approve the pipeline in May. Yes he will shut it down sometime this summer and will align it with some sort of maintenance work (lots of heads up).
It will be a more symbolic gesture than actually having any impact at all since everyone will maximize their tankage. This will hurt BC and AB in the short term, but is absolutely needed to gain the attention it needs as a country.
This makes a lot more sense but I think the only way it'll get Trudeau's attention is if he's out surfing in Tofino and can't get fuel for his jet to fly back east.

I’m certain the pipeline was paid for with our own money to ensure it would never be built. Once it’s tied up in endless court challenges and protests that pretty much deals a death blow. I’m convinced it was the plan all along

Either that or so his buddies at SNC Lavalin could build it at our expense.

I'm figuring this 'turn off the taps' rhetoric is pulled from the same playbook as Trump's 'build the wall.' Neither will actually happen, but it gets people excited in the short term.

"Indigenous groups have told us that more time is needed," Sohi said.

Which translates to; we want more money.
Or they just have to much money and woke up from a long winters nap....ugh ugh what’s going on? we need more time.

Great point, love to see how La Belle Province reacts to $3 per liter fuel prices. Prick said this week there's no "social licence" in Quebec for more Alberta oil but they wouldn't mind more natural gas.

Said it before and saying it again, I’m done supporting any products originating or manufactured in la belle province. Phukk em, sick of the elitist , self serving , unfairness and expectation of listening to the “ we’re all part of the same Canada”. And then turn around and want all our money and support and give nothing in return.

The guy from Gas Buddy was on 630 ched today. He was saying that fuel from the states is even high in Washington state, as they are on partial shutdown of the gas plants. The plants in California are only producing a portion what they should so the demand is huge this is also driving up the prices. And BC's plants are at capacity as they as well are getting older and can only produce a portion of what they could. The other issue that they have is the pipeline is limited and its not all for BC, the majority of it goes to port. Its at 1.71 for the weekend in Vancouver

This becomes the problem when every last person has to be satisfied which Trudeau is too stupid to know, 95% of the bands are in board but 5% are screwing 35 million Canadians. Ya wonder why Canadian politics are fcked.

Pointless to do it until the government in BC actively does something to slow or derail the construction. Soaring gas prices in BC are only worthwhile when the anger caused by them will be directed at the politicians in BC and not at Alberta. Reducing the flow of refined products to BC is a tool that should be held in reserve until a time when its use will result in maximum strategic advantage for Alberta.

Silly question, Im sure has been answered before. Why don’t we build another refinery? Seems to be money in oil so it just makes business sense to add to the processing if the others can’t keep up. Fuel is at an all time high so even if it brings the price down I’m sure there’s still money to be made.
also build it on the Alberta boarder where pipeline needs no approval and sell your finished product from there. With out a pipeline the further down the line the more it cost to truck. Vancouver is at the end of the line so charge accordingly.
