I think what some of you seem to be missing, even if he cuts it on a plasma or laser table (eliminating alot of hours)
- there is the cost of the table
- the exhaust system
- make up air unit and ductwork
- power consumption and consumables e.g some guys run nitrogen on their plasma tables, tips, electrodes etc...
- computers to run it
- depending on what trade you are in software licencing can be a VERY costly yearly expence

I guess no one should have to pay for any of that?

so yeah it may only take a short time to cut but it is far more expensive then the just the man hours

ponyboy if someone offered me 4000 for that i would tell them to GTFO of my office

the thing with custom work, if you can't make good money on it, it's not worth it. you could be welding or building stuff for the patch with none of the hassles and make good money doing it.

i have made some custom furniture for friends and gave my labor away for free, other people see it and they want some to. Problem is MOST people think they should get beautiful custom built stuff for ikea prices

ok im done venting LOL

I am an estimator for a custom sheet metal shop (and a sheet metal mechanic) 70 hours labor = 5400.00 imo. Of coarse i have alot of equipment so my overhead is quite high, so maybe you could go a little lower.

do you have anyone working for you at all sounds like you pay $ 5.72 / hr. that isn't miniimum wage. you running a sweat shop or mexicans?:d:beer:

with your estimates you should be out of business by noon.:d

oops never mind spot on glasses. thought that was too good to be true.

that gate is SOOOOOOOO fawking awesome....

I want one, soon as I can afford it I will be in touch. mine only needs to be 10' but I'd probably be smart to go 12'.... the wagon wheel/ horseshoe center will be a must.

practice lots, I'm sold......
