well at 70 hrs I'd guess at least $1500... thats not much more than $20/hr which is low, mind you if it's a relaxing beer drinking $20 hr I guess not bad, I sit around and drink beer for free....but thats just labor, not sure what the material is worth...

I tell you one thing I'm gonna keep my wife away from this thread because she would want one and I can't afford it.....

It's absolutly beautiful... Nice work man...

In my head
Custom work = custom pay. I say minimum $3000.00 for labour plus materials. Maybe even more.

I think You guys may be close, but my estimate would fall somewhere in the $6000 range. this is 2 weeks worth of work, plus materials.... This is special work. Not only does this serve a function, this serves as art. A point of sale if the owner of the acerage decides to sell their land, and sell the gate with it.

Beautiful custom work. worth every penny you charged.

Think of material costs you guys. grinding wheels, gas for the welder, the cost of the steel... must have been pretty hefty i'm thinking.

If you want to spend $1500 on a gate like that, you better do it yourself. If you want one made beautifully, and strong and done right, you hire someone to do it. AND YOU PAY THEM FOR IT.

Materials, tools to do work, consumables used and labour. I would say at least $7500 after it's painted.

like it was said custom work = custom pay. farmer joe pays close to 1500 when all said with hinges etc for a 4 bar popcan gate to hold in his tame cattle. thats heavy steel and awesome artwork, remember design costs as well. i would say 75 -10000. by the time its painted and installed. and thats only if its single color paint.

Looks great.

I would say $8000.00, we just had a few things built for the firehall and going by what we paid.

Ours was nothing custom.

did you cut all those things out with a plasma? or torch? if so thats impressive and deffinetly takes time. but i think 6000+ might be steep since you COULD cut that complete sheet out on a plasma table or waterjet very quickly. then again that aint cheap either.
