What's a used motor worth?

I been looking on Kijiji for a used motor for my brute force. I found a 750 out of 07 with 2500-3000km on it. What's a good price for that motor or one like it?

i heard arctic cat had a bunch of overstock on kawie 650 crate motors for pretty cheap. maybe a ac dealer could help you out getting one into canada if shipping isnt stupid. or just order a rebuild from dcs or fundy

Probably cheaper to rebuild the one you have. Not sure what the used ones are worth but also you never know what the motor has been through.

Fundy is a performance engine builder for these machines. They are supposedly one of the top builders. You may also want to check with Rapid Revolutions in Edmonton(780-455-7553) They can get you any parts needed as well as do any work you might need done.

Fundy kits are suppose to be good and there built in Canada ... If/when my motor goes I plan on buying the std bore high compression kit from them.

Also Dan at Extreme Machines just north of Sylvan Lake is really good with the Kawi V twins. His are some of the fastest around. He's very good to deal with as well and knows his stuff.

Once an engine has 8000km, what else needs to be changed? I see most of these kits come with piston, rings, valve springs, wrist pins etc. what about the crank bearings or timing chain

With that many kms , probably a good idea to change those parts

Any high mile Kawi V twin needs all 4 chains, rod bearings oil pump etc with any major rebuild.
