LOL. Just in case you decide to eat salmon ALL farmed salmon in BC and east coast are harvested and processed in Canada (there are packing plants near the farms). Been to the packing plants many times over the years for biz.

i read something about 70% of east coast fish being caught, are shipped to china for processing then shipped back to capt highliner?

just about all alaskan fish are sent to china, taiwan, vietnam etc for processing, i would be supprised if BC wasn't doing the same!

this is for wild fish not farmed salmon. There are 35 processing plants in BC for farmed fish and that number hasn't changed in years since I was exporting farmed fish to Asia (all processed ready to eat).

If you're planning to boycott BC in any way then I suggest having a look at the electoral map. Boycotting the people who voted Liberal is counterproductive and hurting the people who oppose the NDP. Instead boycott the areas that support the NDP and Green party. I could be wrong as I'm no wine expert but Notley's wine boycott hurts strictly Liberal ridings and does nothing to threaten any of the NDP supporting areas, she wouldn't dare risk losing the support for her BC NDP cousins. Just my opinion.

Just left the island. Really surprised at how hard it was to find WILD salmon froze. I ended up finding it and single handedly kept the bc fishing industry in business haha. Had to though. Hard finding any thing remotely fresh in grande prairie.

Haha.........I had the same experience a few years ago. Asked a butcher at a grocery store about the lack of salmon in the display cases and his answer was, "there are two many other outlets where the locals buy salmon at reduced prices". Meaning down on the wharf and/or from the native fishermen.
