Im 40. The speed things have moved at in my lifetime are hard to fathom, add a decade to that and it’s even steeper. Everything is electronic these days, there’s no getting away from it anymore.

the world has become soft and lazy with all the "automatic" technology nowadays. Too many snowflakes and peoplekind and not enough real people and humankind or humanity.... Sad to see what has become of this world, and largely due to the internet, but like everyone has said, some amazing stuff out there largely due to the internet/computers

My grandfather was born in 1899, lived to be a 101....at 72 years old he retired and over the next 2 years built him and my Grandmother a house.
When he was in his early 80's I had a conversation about emerging technology, portable phones, and his comments set me back....
He wasn't surprised by them at all, he commented that it will be common place in the not to distant future, he joked about whether he would see flying cars or not...

It wasn't until a later conversation with my Dad that it made some sense, just think of the world he grew up in the early 1900's and the technology developments he was witness to...

The automobile, electricity, air travel to landing on the moon....my dads comment was what would it take in an tech advancement to even equal what my Grandfathers generation saw...the flying car example, I wouldn't be surprised, excited maybe, but not surprised...

So that's a interesting question...what would it take to make you surprised....for me a transporter...now that would save some carbon...

We actually canceled our satilight service and down graded our internet package on September 1st. No satilight, no Netflix, only use internet for work and s&m. Doesn't sound like much but we are saving about $250/month but have spent a chit tone more time in the yard a d playing games with the kids

In Jan we are cancelling our tv package, we will only have our unlimited internet for our Roku tv box so we can stream Netflix and Amazon Prime, and of course Snow and Mud.
