Fair points. A simple replacement trigger in the normal Glocks, or just getting a Glock 34 or 35, gets you a nice range gun. Neither is IPSC legal, though.

Questions you need to ask yourself or what do you want out of the handgun, comp, joy, black badge, target

I seen on comment on go to the gun ranges try stuff out, great comment, handguns are a very personal thing to some people. Look at feel how does it fit in your hand, can you operate he gun with one hand ie HOD, were not all built the same so does it feel balanced in your hand. Cal, depends on you and how much do you want to spend, hitting your target is more important that how hard you hit it lol (it is paper most times).

Myself I like the 22 for practice cheep to shoot (even though I don't currently have one), then when you bring out the larger cal your not wasting shots. nothing better than nice tight groups.

for now im looking for something to shoot for fun, but in the net year id like to get my black badge and maybe start doing some comp. so i was thinkin i might at well start off with a ood comp gun right off the bat so i dont have to buy a second one and get used to it for the black badge

Gotta try a bunch. My favorite is the old Ruger P89 which most people hate. With some Hogue grips it fits my beat up mechanic hands well and I can shoot better with it than any other I've tried with perhaps the exception of a G34/35.

ive resold guns before and never again, i hate taking that big of a loss on stuff i own, id rather just get something that ill keep for a very long time

Get something to fit your hand and thats comfortable. If you have big mitts for example it's possible to pinch your hand with a smaller gun. Try them first then invest.

You can't go wrong with a 1911. Designed by John Browning, probably the most talented firearms designer of all time. The design is 100 years old and has changed very little in that time.

Pheonix is the highest priced place in Edmonton. The last time I bought a handgun from there I swore I never would again. I had to go back 4 times because of my temp att. Usually you get it faxed to the shop you buy the gun from. I finally had it emailed to me and then produced it and took the gun home. It was such a run around and they couldnt care less. Found out P+D had the same gun for 100 cheaper and wholesale even cheaper.
