Was seriously considering the yeti but have heard so many issues with customer service and parts since camso bought them out. The new timbersled kit seems to be just as good....who would be the best dealer to go work out a new bike timbersled kit?

Cheers

Hard to beat a 16/17 TS for the price you can get them for. The new aro is good too just not 5k better than the previous kits. CMX are quality kits as well. 5+ years riding TS and only one bearing failure (2014 kit) out of 7 guys. We ride em hard and bang em off lots of crap too. As for the bikes almost all of us are on yammys now..they flat out rip as a snowbike. Now that polaris has its hands on the TS the reliability seems to be suffering (cheap china aluminum)..time will tell. Good luck.

My dream. KTM SXF 450 team bike with a 129" yeti. 1" travel shock in the monoshock spot. Raptors in the skid. I've rode the fullspeed fleet a few times. Yeti 129,120,129SS,TS with Wr450,450FX was the rest. Rode with a 300 Sherco TS, yz450 yeti 129, kx450 yeti 129, kits from 2015-2018. They all rock! Seeing more Camso, less TS. Yeti service at Argyl is pretty good, Ryan's great to deal with and the parts guy, Chad? (Sorry), As well.

Agreed, Ryan and Darryl seem to have the Yeti parts delivery issues handled. Great dudes to deal with. If I was a Yamaha guy I would be dealing with them on everything for sure.

As for what bike and kit, you gotta give a little more info. You gonna run the bike in the summer as well or is it a dedicated snowbike? If so, what kind of summer riding? What kind of winter rider are you? Is it going to left fairly stock or are you looking to build a monster? What's the budget? ect ect ect

thanks for all the replys

Im looking at between the CR450RX , KTM 450XC-F or last the Yamaha 450FX. Hoping to have both kickstart and electric so having the add on for kick start is a plus. I know the FX has this ability for 2018 not sure about Honda or KTM.

I do plan to run this bike in the summer which is why i plan to get the timbersled trio for ease or switch. If it was just winter i wouldn't care to much about what bike as the differences become much smaller in the snow.

Anyone deal with riverside?

Good to hear about yeti dealers holding it down for them, im definitely waiting for the 2019 release April 2nd to make a decision on a snowcheck.

As for mods just the standard Raze bars, air screens, lights, pegs and anything else needed to make it work in the snow. A wingman kit and ninja backup would be a future plan if i needed more after season 1.

Cheers

I don’t enjoy it as much as sledding, my crew all ride sleds, and I don’t get enough days in the mtn’s to justify having both.

Keep in mind that the xcf has the aer 48 air forks, someone correct me if I am wrong, and you would likely look at doing a spring conversion or Brock Buttars seal setup even if running the trio. No kicker option.

Honda has spring forks so add trio and go. Also has 5 speed close ratio transmission which I would say most prefer on snowbike. Has kick and electric start.

Yamaha has spring forks so add trio and go. Has 5 speed wide ratio transmission. kick and electric start only available on 2016s but can be added to 17 and 18s

I called riverside and the CR450 only had both kick and electric for 2017, for 2018 its an add on and parts are $650 im told. too steep, will just have to carry a boost pack. I was leaning more towards the ARO 120 kit based on my weight and type of riding. If i end up going yeti it will be the 129.

17 and 18 are the same bike other than the loss of kicker I believe. Why not just buy a left over 17. I'm sure there are some kicking around.

Carry a rope. We've pull started my buddy's bike a number of times.

Good on ya there boss. Welcome to a different type of riding. Look for a better battery for winter though. Don't worry too much about starting them cause we pushed one about 20 ',popped the clutch and away we went. Factory batteries are not that strong in winter. Out of a group of 17 Bikes and only a poor battery is decent performances odds.

Never had an issue not having a kickstart. 3 years of riding I have never had to pull the boost pack out of the pack unless it was for someone else's bike.

That's because they don't sell Honda. Got one (450RX) with last year's Snow Check Yeti (129). Wouldn't ride anything else....Sled didn't didn't get any seat time.
