What is up with DOO?

Freeride is heavier cause of the beefed up chassis...489lbs i think, but the rest of the summit family is still in the 450's.

everybody wanted a light sled, BRP made them. peeps started breaking stuff cause they were maybe too light in some areas, BRP added some beef....we'll have to see how polaris fares with their lightweight machines. hopefully they learned from some of 'doos mistakes.....wonder how the new poo will be to repair their glued together chassis/bulkheads after a crash.

I read an article about those chassis, and they said that it is easy to replace, just need a good heat gun for the glue.

That just doesn't sound right. Doo is famous for exhaust bolts loosening off and exhaust leaks. Now mix a few gas leaks, an exhaust leak, clutch dust, coolant and GLUE and see what happens. Can you see the resale value of these sleds in 5 years or better when the glue lets go on several sleds?

Does anyone know what components they are glueing and what will happen if the glue let goes?

That's funny, I have owned Doo's for about 19 yrs, and never had this problem. And it's Polaris that is glueing them together..not doo. Not right now anyway....

From what I have been hearing, the glue is the same stuff the aircraft industry uses to put some plane parts together with... :d

But yes, only time will tell for sure.

Chev has been using the "glue" as some refer to it as, since the '90's.
Check the Lumina APV and some of the big Olds, they have had composite panels for many years and not an issue. The tensile strength is still going to be there, and that is what a composite glue offers.
