Really deep snow will cause a sled to trench

Ken - Mountain Magic sleds don't trench. Less suspension height. They just spin up the track and slide around on the running boards.

I'm afraid every sled trenches to some extent. It's a simple law of physics.

Which law of Physics? Newtons Laws of motion perhaps?

LHF trolling...

I dunno, It is a good topic if you really think of it...

People say, "uhh duhh it's geometry of the sled" but what geometry? Will 1 or 2 degrees make that sort of difference? Does the rear suspension of your skid make the difference?
How about the coupling? Would a heavier nose increase or decrease a trench...Track size, lug height, pattern..etc.
