Although I see room with Uber for illegal cabs and abuse of the concept, I like the idea of ride sharing. Just not sure how one could efficiently monitor it you know?
The whole idea with a legal Taxi is it's supposed to be efficient transportation, cost effective, regulated and safe. As of late, for the most part cabs today are none of these.

Well I tried it a couple times and it's easier quicker and cheaper,I'm done with cabs. I would like to hear more from those who try it, saved about 30 percent and next too no wait time for me.and yes no more cabs for me.

We've done several uber vehicle inspections, and they've all passed no problem.... Never tried uber yet, but do plan on it soon.... Cabs always waiting outside the casinos, and pubs, and it's a cheap ride home if we over indulge,. Some day soon we'll try uber.

I've used Uber a few times now. Definitely the way to go if you can wait a few minutes for them.

Couldent agree more. Used uber a few times, showed up quick, clean modern cars with no vomit air freshener, and a driver that didn't reek of body odor. Taxi's and the cab commish have had a monopoly and free rein for far to long. Now that there is competition they want to play the safety card, been in cabs that feel like an exhibition ride

This...

Used Uber in Indianapolis and Phoenix this winter. The final straw that pushed us that way was the cab we took from Plainfield into downtown Indy, where I couldn't breath through my nose because the combined smell of BO and curry was going to make me puke. Colleague at work told us about it, so we downloaded it and haven't looked back. As far as the safety goes, we've talked to every one of their drivers and Uber does a fairly intense screening on them and they're fully insured. The other bonus is knowing the price in advance and no cash changes hands.

Been using it in la and in palm springs and its been working great
When we were in la and San Diego uber was recommended due to the cabbies being crooked. Swapping bills is their specialty. 20 for 1.

You need a credit card to get it, the driver has your info and you have his,no cash changes hands ,this greatly increases security for you and the driver. Also once you request a ride, you can follow him too your location, pretty cool.wait times are usually less than 10 minutes even on a weekend at midnight. What more does a guy want, the cars I was in were spotless too.

I used it in Nee York.

Brand new vehicles, Clean. Polite Drivers. Affordable.

It's up to you if you want to tip. I usually did a couple bucks. Most important to the driver, was good feedback..
