Some valid points, why can't we be a nation within a nation like Quebec?

https://business.financialpost.com/...s-a-new-deal-fast-or-separation-is-inevitable

Because Ontario and Quebec will do everything in their power to stop us.....the liberal elites firmly believe that the western provinces exist to support Ontario and Quebec....the deliberate actions of the last 4 years to destroy the economies of Alberta and Saskatchewan are ample evidence of that....they will sabotage every effort we make to be prosperous again.... they want the western provincial economies to just tick over enough to keep us self supporting while providing the eastern provinces with 15-20 billion in equalization payments to keep their economies afloat, and to ensure that their industries can be subsidized and supported using Alberta money to protect them from foreign competition.

Like the ppc, I feel this whole movement is dead in the water. I am proud to be Canadian, and dont want the turd in office to think he can push us out of our country. We need to keep pushing for a referendum on equalization. Something as drastic as forming our own nation just isn't plausible In the foreseen future. You need to sit back, calm down and proceed with planning and intelligence. Blowing up like a bull in China shop is never the answer...

If Quebec can do it with Bloc why would it be unreasonable to have a west only party. Lifetime Alberta has sent over $600 billion net in transfer payments, we would be another Dubai if we didn’t have the money vacuum east. I say screw em they want our money but not our oil screw that, I’ve personally had enough.

can't see why it can't be done. needs a true leader, needs people to get behind wexit! an estimated 900 people at a rally is not going to cut it though. so unless there are thousands at the next rally in Calgary, (from the video) it may be over?

sitting here and yakking just isn't going to get it done i'm afraid. time to take a stand! i intend to go to the next wexit rally.

anyone else??

Canada is an unsustainable farce of a country that has only been held together in the past with federal policies and legislation that kept western money paying for the welfare provinces of Quebec and the maritimes, while at the same time ensuring that western prosperity was kept at a level that made sure we didn’t get too cocky. Finally the west is waking up to this fact and starting to take steps to become an independent entity. The sooner the better. I’m in on wexit for sure.

With being away working 3 weeks of the month I do not need the support other MLA will. I will crack 200k again this year, oil patch is alive for me....I shouldn't give it up to get into politics but as they say the best person is the person who wants nothing to do with it...
I can laugh my way to the bank again since I quit drinking and smoking or be the change in the world I want to see...

The movement isn't even a month old, give it some time and lets see what happens. They know its not an overnight change, they just filled to become a federal party, so things are moving slowly. Or would you rather Alberta just sit back and do nothing and keep supplying the east with money while our industry gets abused on the world market?

Come on, I was hoping you could do better. Please don't show yourself as a typical patch pig with more $$$ then brains with a lift kit and a limp noodle.

Poor fellow, folks like you don't need a separatist movement, we will let you go. Free if charge.

Are you assuming that the west revolves around Alberta?

There is more effective change that can be done then wanting to leave because things aren't going your way. I'm all for reform and change and standing up for that, heck I will be first in line at the movement for that but to say we want this or that or we are leaving...... I will say peace out. If those are your only options then I think people should be very cautious of what they wish for

Seemed to work out pretty good for Quebec when they played that game.

Not the west, but the country as a whole you could say revolves around Alberta's contributions. If Saskatchewan, Manitoba, BC and NWT want to join the movement/fight then great. The bigger the numbers the bigger the message. But if Alberta is left to fight on their own then I think they should do anything in their power to leave if Ottawa isn't going to offer them a fair deal.
