Westlock Trail Conditions

I was out on the trails north of Westlock yesterday. I did the west loop. The trails were in fair condition, however, there were numerous bare spots. I would not travel any great distance to ride these trails, but they were quite rideable.

Thanks for the update. Gonna show da wife and try and talk her into one last ride for the season unless we get our annual big dump for March. Not holding my breath though on more snow.

Not sure about Westlock, but if you want to drive a little further we have groomed the majority of the trails on the Athabasca Trail System.

Our closest staging area to Edmonton (1.5hrs from St. Albert) and right at our trail system is #10 on our map - it's on the west side of Baptiste Lake, up TWP RD 670. Our trail system also connects with Westlock's trails from the south. So if you unload at their staging area you could ride over to ours as well.

We unloaded close to number 0 on the map and the trail was in very nice condition. My only complaint was the g p s co ordinates do not match up with the gps I own. It kept telling me to go south about 30kms. We went to both warm up shelters and the bilsky loop. Great work. We will ride again.

Rode that area today as well. Unloaded in westlock and rode up and did the north loop! the trails were in good shape.

Rode Westlock trails today. Rode the north loop. Trails varied from really good condition to really whooped out in other places. Another good dump of snow would really help. Overall they were pretty good considering the amount of snow we have had. Good job to the club.

This is the snowmobile trail section. Westlock staging area is buy Long Island Lake or in the grazing lease during snowmobile season. Stop in at one of the snowmobile dealers in Westlock they will have better info than me.

I was up on the Westlock trail system last Saturday. The trails were in poor condition, with several bare spots. No grooming has been done. The snow conditions got better as one headed further north.
The trails were rideable, but not great. I very much doubt that there will be a rally this coming weekend.

As of Monday night the Pembina Driftbusters snowmobile club has declared that the rally is a go for Saturday Feb 6

No I haven't Derek, we did ride last weekend but from Barrhead to Swan Hills, snow was rideable but wasn't super awesome. Did 163km.

Bush, followed Barrhead snowmobile trails up thru goodridge to Flatbush cabin, to trans can trail. Then stuck to that trail all the way to swan

.....last weekend ended up unloading at Trapper Lea cabin and doing a run around Swan Hills, we did 160 km .
We saw lots of dead fall on that windy day ...
