hey guys,

I have a skid steer bucked that needs a cuttin edge welded on. Does anyone know a good shop that I can take it to in the morning? If not, I can try to do it myself, but i'd rather pay the half hour than to mess around and take more time. It's a small 4' bucket, so nothing too crazy.

thanks!

thanks. I was afraid of that. Both the bending over part and the welding it myself part. Hope the welds hold!

1/2 an hour? Must be a miniature cutting edge.

I hear you, any welding shop I know won't look at a job if its under 4 hours. Welding on a cutting edge usually involves removing the old one, fitting, prepping then the actual welding. 4 hours almost seems minimal.

ok - not to be rude - just giving my experience - if you have to remove the old one its a bit of a job - gouging or cutting off the old one a good hour - maybe more - then cleaning surfaces / prepping for new one - sometimes bucket can be a bit warped - then weld new one on - gonna say another 1 1/2 hr to do proper job - materials $35 -45 - if you want cutting edge hard surfaced to extend edge surface - that be extra - usually charge customer pre welding rod ! Really would recommend bolting it on if you can !
