They are called Mammatus clouds. They are rare and are associated with severe thunderstorms. Don't take them lightly Millsy. Keep an eye on the weather radar.

By the way Millsy. Just checked your weather. You have a tornado watch on right now. Get to the basement. Its got lots of red and purple in it which can mean large hail as well.

Global Calgary has noted that a big thunderstorm is on it's way to Edmonton, and it will hit tonight.

I'm still here no swirly action to the west of Edmonton just monsoon like rain with a little hail, then heavy rain.

Half asses scary storm pounding Onoway now
Weather network said you have a severe thunderstorm warning for Onoway Plio. Same storm they say that went through Edmonton with golf ball hail and 100 km winds. Batten down the hatches on the Hobbitt house!

Really?? The one that just rolled through here was moving from north west to south east. 2 pretty good storms in the last 1 1/2 hours
I seen your pics on FB, and they looked like the big one was ready to come through
