Just talked to my cousin who "had" a cabin at Hidden Valley Resort east of Calgary. They were evac'ed 2 night ago and he went down today. He was able to get to a vantage point high enough to see his cabin...........or at least the top half of the peaked roof. He can't see his garage and his neighbors cabin has moved. He said there is about 3-4 ft showing on the top of the power poles and estimates close to 12 ft of water in the resort. He will not rebuild he says as the lease with the Siksika nation is over October 31st/13 and it is not looking promising for a renewal. The Nation is thinking they were going to have a nice golf course and summer vacation homes to live in but I think this may be the karma the kicks them in the @#$%^&!! On a good note if its a warm summer there will be plenty of good firewood for them if it gets a chance to dry out.
