You didn't say "no offence" that was your problem.....

"Just sayin" may have worked to a lesser extent

I was just following his lead. My original post was very clear that my intention was not to insult anyone..... apparently having to READ was too much of a burden and offended him. *shrug* However just like the government, he has no impact on my life, one way or the other, but pushing his buttons is kinda fun ;)

Why does everyone feel that an increase in tax automatically means it's a handout to lazy welfare bums?
Tax dollars also pay for OAS, Healthcare, education, infrastructure, military, fisheries, and much much more.

No need to increase taxes. if they stopped wasting what they get now there would be no need to increase. Ever see how the money gets spent, it is sickening.

Apparently the only one having a problem with reading was you. Unable to comprehend what giving an example is, not a personal situation. I read your life story just fine.
BTW your not pushing my buttons. Hippies like you need to do alot more than that. Just another lacklustre wacko on the Internet is all I'm reading from you.

You are delusional if you think those that voted the leftys in voted for "OAS, Healthcare, education, infrastructure, military, fisheries, and much much more". They voted them in because they get $$$ for nothing. (<-------PERIOD)

Yeah exactly, I've watched Ledcor try to fill the cracks in the pavement on the Dunvegan hill for the last 2 months and they still aren't done, they are out there almost every day too, 5 miles of road in 2 months, and I know exactly who's paying them to do it, and it sure as f@ck isn't the people on welfare.

My wife made all our curtains and the cost of quality materials isn't cheap so I guess if your house is big enough, not mine though, 97k for curtains isn't out of the question.

I have seen military housing get approved to have all the doors replaced (old ones were fine) and at the same time they came right behind with another crew and knocked them down with an excavator. No bs, the excavator had to wait for the door crew to install the doors and get them inspected before they could level the house.

There is no government building in the world that deserves 97k worth of curtains. The price of materials drastically goes down with a large volume purchase. Doesn't matter how big it is. That's wasting the tax payers money.
Biotch probably owned the company making the curtains, or got a kick back.

several years ago I donated $25,000 bucks to a village in Peru that I was importing the products they grew. The money was used to pay for bringing in power 22 km away from the nearest power source. Not only they installed the power poles, lines, etc etc, they had enough money to buy irrigation pumps for the farmers and school. Here in Canada one pole would cost $5 grand and you still need another xxx for 22 km. Why am I saying is this is because our government here spends so much wasteful money that if the budget is $25 grand for a project they come back to tax payers and say they need more because it wasn't enough. I would love to control the purse strings just for one month and tell the hospitals, schools, road works etc etc to work within their means and run it like a business. You have $100 bucks income you spend $98 not $198.

But the labour in Peru was probably donated, or low paid. Here in Canada almost all Government workers are Union and demand high wages, benefits, vacation pay, a slack work enviroment etc. This is why it costs so much as well, not to mention the illegal aspects such as lining a buddies pocket, or kickbacks to the politician.

I paid 40 bucks per pole at my place, pressure treated and all. Bought directly from the mill. Hydro wanted 450 just for the pole.

Fair enough.... then I will just re-direct that at your buddy. I have many of them who make/made that kind of money who now complain about a potential extra tax. Pffft. I once dated a very wealthy financial investor..... she commented "a tax problem, isn't a problem at all". What she meant was that if you make so much money that you have to pay more taxes, you really don't have a problem.... Since when is making a lot of money a problem?

As I said, I am not here to start a flame war.... and my life story was for context... I'm pretty sure no one had a gun to your head forcing you to read it.... Although I didn't go in to much detail, my life is ****ing awesome, maybe I'll write a book. :Þ

Its totally ridiculous, and so is your suggestion that there could be any merit or justification for that kind of expenditure of public money for window coverings. I don't care how friggen big the house is, there needs to be more accountability for things like this from our elected officials.

no labour was paid and so was everything else. I understand the economics are different but what I am trying to get at is that even in Peru they worked within the budget and got the job done and had extra money to buy pumps. Have you ever heard of a project going less than budgeted here in Canada? Pretty sad. On a side note, there are lots of other issues in Peru that I would never trade for like we have in Canada. We have is sooooo good here!
