Hey guys, new to the forum, looking for suggestions to get some more get and go, from my 2006 Switchback 600HO, 144". I picked it up in Whitehorse for an awesome price, and it is in great shape, according to the dealer who had a look at it. What I am looking for, is that bottom end snap, which is a bit lacking on this sled.

I know that pipes and cans are a common mod, however is there a brand I should stick with, or stay away from? I want a bit of a raspier sound, but nothing to the extend of a Jaws can. I know a guy with a M8 with one of these and it is a bit much. Are there difficult clutching or jetting changes required with a pipe? I am trying to make this as simple as possible.

Also, are the high-flow air intakes, hot air elimination kits, etc, help any?

Further, any recommendations for shorter windshields?

Thanks!

SLP makes a great pipe for this sled with claimed 10hp gain. They also supply a jetting and clutching chart with the pipe/can. The sound of the SLP exhaust is deeper than stock but not much louder. I'll be getting this pipe in the new future. I've seen great deals on ebay for the complete exhuast. SLP also has their "high flow Air Horn, which would work to help the sled breath more for the new exhaust.

Pipes, can, High flow intake and hot air elimination vents are all good mods without spending thousands.

Hey thanks Blackzed, it looks awesome with the bigger paddle on there. Was up in the mountain two weeks back with a guy with an 09 Dragon 151. Sure noticed how the 2" helped him out, as compared to the stock track on mine. What brand and type of track did you end up putting on? Did you install yourself?

Is there a performance difference with the pipe and can, or is it more for the sound?

How are the trail manners with the bigger lug?

It's a 2" 144 camoplast. Yes I try to do all my own work.
It handles about the same on the trails track wise the ez steer makes it a very easy the control now. I found that the stock gears where way to tall so I droped them to match a stock rmk . 2800 miles on it no real problems still a good fun sled to ride
