You will always have "those" fans who only care that they're team has a better chance due to an injury...careful with some of your statements here because after saying the majority of chit talk is coming from vancouver fans, though your aiming you slander at their fans that's not much better...because on a vancouver forum some morons are saying its a good thing doesn't mean on a boston forum you wouldn't see the same, and you wouldn't want people generalizing boston fans.

It is what it is, a late questionable hit with a bad out come, but now the chips have fallen, nhl has made its decision.....let's get back to the series.

If boston can maintain the play of last night....this will be a 7 game series, and may the best team win

I never once said that the Bruins were any cleaner than any other team so don't put words in my mouth. If Lucic, or Chara, or Thornton or any other Bruin would have done that to a Canucks player then they would deserve whatever punishment is handed out to them and shame on them for dirty play.

And as far as the finger pointing thing goes, Julien gave them hell about it and expressed his displeasure with the team. He can't control what they do once they are on the ice so all he can do is admonish them in the locker room.

Only sports team I have ever despised in my entire life is the NY Yankees but after watching the type of play i've seen in the Finals, i've added Vancouver to that list. Go ahead and hate on the Bruins, I expect nothing less from Vancouver fans.

Not putting word in your mouth and no where close to a vancouver fan.....did you forget me agreeing with you on the chit talk coming from vancouver fans?

I'm simply saying your last to posts are condemning vancouver for they're play, and chit talkin about they're fans generalizing off of chit you read from a few off of a vancouver forum......

Relax my friend I will still be sitting with my buddy cheering on boston as I have done through out the play offs....but I will save my smack talk for the next oilers run

That post wasn't directed at you Plio7, that was for eclipse1966.

One thing you need to understand, just like the Vancouver fans are so insane over their team, I feel the same way about the Bruins. I follow them every year hoping and praying that this is the year for them. And to watch the kind of crap that goes on now that they are there and losing one of their best players due to a cheap shot is just frustrating.

Why wouldn't I call out Canuck fans when some are saying that it was a clean hit when even the league said it was not? I'm a raving Boston sports fan, I love them all and want them to win championships every year but not at the cost of an opposing players career. :(

Play mean, play tough, play with an edge but keep the play clean. That's not asking too much is it?

I fully agree with you but again when I read your comments you may not say it directly but acting like your team is innocent of the cheap crap. They aren't. I guess both teams want the cup bad so they are putting everything on the line and pushing their game to the limit. Anyway, may the best team win :beer::d

Jeremy Jacobs is the worst owner in the NHL.This retard is the Bozo who has led the bard of governors down the G.Buttmann garden path. I'm not one to bi@tch much about the officiating, but surely anyone with a shred of reality can see that any infraction committed by a bruin nets no suspension ever. To give Rome 4 games is to finally start making the punishment fit the crime. WTF happened when Paxcioretty (sp) was railroaded. I realize that J.Jacobs is a Mac daddy bozo who needs a good beating himself. Mike Murphy is a fawkin puppet. Check my posts on here about Chara & Lucic's hits that are more suspect then Rome's.

I quote Doug Weight "This should never merit more then a 1 game at the most".

It was a late hit by 432 milliseconds. that is less then 1/2 a second. The hit itself except for the timing was legal. Mike Murphy is a fawking Bozo who needs a good beating himself. If Shanahan is no better they will risk losing lots of fans. The NHL is not exactly a league without it's problem children. Rome has a clean history when it comes to hits etc. and this ruling stinks because to change the rules on suspensions halfway through the playoffs is fawkin jerryrigging the sport. Anyone want game 5 tix and game 7 mine are for sale $5,000.00 each row 24 center ice. I'll go fishing and buy a new boat instead of watching the referee's and Mike Murphy Kangaroo court. Gary bettman is a fawkin midget who should go back to basketball he's ruined our sport now!

I hope Horton is OK! No player deserves that while earning a living!

I am certainly not condoning the hit and subsequent injury. I do lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of the officials. They played 82 games under a set of rules that was accepted by the players and officials. Then we start the playoffs and all you here from the fans and the press,is "let them play".
Well now they are letting them play!! This is the result. The amount of dirty, cheap, disrepsectful chit that went on, from both teams was an assault to the senses. The refs will clamp down next game. There will probably be 6 pp's each in the first period and will most likely decide the outcome of the game. The refs need to find a common respectful ground that the players know not to cross. Then we will see some good hockey.

These were not suspensions and Rome's hit was?? WTF?? Mike Murphy is a Goof!

No consistency at all!

Rome should appeal the suspension, on the grounds of precedence. This hit was far from the most aggressive attempt to injure.

To change the rules at game #103 in the Stanley Cup Finals is Fawked!

and they wonder why Vancouver fans are all over this crap. Nice job pointing it out!

I watched a video clip of the bruins head coach talkin about the hit and he didn't call it a dirty hit. What he called it was a late blindside hit. I dont like seeing any player get injured but what player skates into the offensive zone just after passing the puck and doesn't look where he is going.

This is a link where you can see the hit and they play it in slow motion. Yes at the lastsecond rome leaves his feet. But i fully beleive that if horton hadn't got a concussion there wouldn't have been any suspension at all.

who cares about chara's hit.....that's the past guys get over it, the hit on Horton is also in the past, the call is what it is and the consequences are what they are, everyone is different and the nhl officials ultimately have the final say, and injury will get you harsher consequences 90% of the time. to say one teams player receive lesser consequences is just a way to vent your frustrations, especially on hits that were in the regular season.....in my eyes the suspension was more of a "ok they're out a guy for the remainder so your out for the remainder"......it is what it is

I agree this is all in the past and now we have to move forward and put this to rest and focus on the games coming up. I just hope that going forward the NHL uses the same rule book and discipline for both teams.

being 100% impartial I feel the suspension was warranted... maybe not based on intent but based on result.... Horton is out and is a key player for Boston, Rome is out (still knight versus pawn but it is what it is)... as much as Horton should have had his head up...Rome saw that his head was down and still persued at 100%.... if there was any evidence that he made the slightest effort to finish his check on a more cautious note and Horton was still hurt I`d agree with you knuckleheads, but it is what it is and actions should have consequence. I agree in the past the consequences have been no more consistant than a blind kid in a wheel chair trying to pin the tail on the donkey but they need to straighten it out and I see it fair that it was decided man for a man.....

I agree 100% with that bolded statement but the problem is, Horton was laid out and not moving and the look on his face was a terrible thing to see on tv.

The medical staff had to come out and keep him still because they did not know the extent of his injuries. All precautions have to be taken to ensure the player is not injured further. Like you, I watched the video over and over so many times I started seeing double and Rome did leave his feet at the very last second, as you stated already. And if the hit hadn't of been late and this still happened then I believe there wouldn't have been a suspension and probably not a penalty either.

I hope the refs keep a firm grip on this game tonight but let the players decide the who wins the game.

After Game 3 performance with Boston fans being somewhat in-hospitable I dont think a whole lot of Canuck fans what to put the spot light on themselves. On the news they interviewed one couple from Vancouver and they said they had to leave the game early as they were being taunted continuously and was getting worse. Then another Boston fan tried to headbutt Canuck fans. I bet the tension was pretty thick. :nono:

Probably some stupid drunk was giving them heartburn. I think they should ban alcohol from sports arenas or at least set a limit on how many people can have, some people just can't handle their alcohol. I'm sure Vancouver and every other arena has their fair share of knuckleheads too.
