Valemount or Mcbride? which is better?

I find it funny that your first trip to the mountains your looking for the Big Hills,Carefull what you ask for,starting out you may want to start out on the smaller hills or you wont have a sled to mod.I rode both lots and there is no better one,I have had deep powder and Blue bird days at both and soccked in for the weekend at both as well.Clemina or Renshaw would be great for first time rides.You will be so overwhelmed you first day it wont matter where you go!

I agree with Catmando, either Renshaw (30k ride to cabin) or Clemina (18k ride to cabin) will provide you with some great areas to learn. Riding with a guide or experienced group will shorten your learning curve and should keep you from getting in situations that could scare/hurt you. Make sure you have all the appropriate mountain safety gear and know how to use it.

Mountain riding is night and day different than ditch banging. Prepare to be exhausted at the end of the first day. Remember to save the for after the ride.

I like Vale......Closer to home and I hate Renshaw due to the trail in...P.S and it really pizzes me off when you pay for grooming and they take your money then lied about the trail being groomed.....Just dirty if you ask me......

the 1 time we went to Renshaw,payed for the trail,cost $15...the trail was hammered out before 9am....and back on the way down saw the groomed going up at km 5....what a ride from hell up and down.
Had a great time at the top though

Bell and Lucille are nice and short.

Both places have their good and bad, but I prefer Mcbride, I find Valemount is more crowded in the usual areas. Just a note, Renshaw is the largest map riding in BC, has to say something.

yes and when the storm hits its also the hardest area to get out of if you dont ahve someone with you that knows it well.

very user friendly, easy navigation and the jewel chappell creek has to be the safest and deepest snow you will find in the valley

Hey guys i was just wondering, im pretty new to mountain riding and ive been to valemount once and was just wondering if i could get some input on which place is better riding and which place has bigger hills?

Valemount is a slam dunk to me becuase it is centrally located between Blue River and McBride so you can easily sled all three areas from Valemount. All three are great areas on any given day but why not stay in Valemount and sled all three.

So, basically its been said.. if u dont like Mcbride one day, drive to Valemount, if u dont like Valemount dirive to blue river.. i would garintee a great day at anyone of thoes spots. more so blue river or valemount, as i perfer them better.

but to each there own. try them all out!!! all amazing place's

Deepest day I have ever seen actually.

That was on the trail !!!! The only reason you see a stuck orange is due to the turbo guys not being able to control their own super powered sleds and cutting us real riders off:d hahaha.

By the way, who lead that day ?????? Quite a feet just to get to the lake. Gotta love Chappell, so safe and soooooo deep

Like it was said before, just pick on and go ride. You will have a hard time keeping the smile off of your face where ever you go
