I can tell you for me this will not stop me from going up the hills and playing but dont get me wrong it's made me look at it a little differently.. I'm looking at starting a family later thios summer s oi'll just simply go and play in the area's that i know are safe and i was told today that most all the big area's in reshaw have come down now and as long as youo stay out of the (death) zones it's not bad. as most of the avvy's have come down now.

Well boys, I don't even know what to say, I cant express how broken hearted I feel for all of the families of the lost sledders this year. I may not ride the hills but you all feel like parts of my family riding my hills and I had high hopes to never have a death on any hills especially the McBride hills. I send my deepest condolences to the families of our lost comrades, and pray for everyone to be safe and smart. If you have a bad feeling to quote big dog STAY ON THE PORCH!!! please please please go with your gut, don't highmark, stay in safe areas, It just makes me sick to my stomach to see how many fallen boys we have this year, I can't express how much I want to numbers to stop rising.

For those who are wondering, they ARE BLASTING the Renshaw on Thursday that is why it is closed, there will be provincial safety authority personell turning everyone around at the bottom of mountainview rd. The other hills are open, if you are going to ride, ride safe, ride smart and remember those at home that love you and worry about you while you are gone, maybe take 5 minutes to make a few extra calls and let them know you are ok.

RIP Boys, you will be thought of often and missed forever!

Are any names released yet?

Honestly this is crazy - when the conditions are the worst they have been in 100 years - why is anyone still going out riding? Live to ride next year - stay home AND OFF THE MOUNTAINS - WAY TOO DANGEROUS THIS SEASON!

Good Call Haggis - go to Swan Hill or Long Lake - lots of snow there . I know it's not Renshaw or Allan Creek but why risk it. How bad and/or how many more accidents have to happen before people change their minds.

Re: 2 renshaw any deaths

Be safe Teeroy, and stay off the slopes. Lots of places to ride without putting yourself in DANGER....A guy should have some sort of a tailgate meeting with all your ridding group to get everyone on the same page about the conditions..... Just my 2 cents....Bring everyone home alive!!!!Have a great ride!!

Yes very sad , hate to hear more of this , personaly think there is a reason for all this to happen , opened up my local paper tonite and see a freind of mine has passed away from cancer , so if your number is up you might as well go out enjoying what you like , does not make it any easier on the families and freinds but should console a little knowing they went out enjoying life

R.I.P and my thoughts and prayers are with all

i couldnt agree more when its your time to go i hope its doing sumthing you loved doing..these boys who died deffinatly would not want to see us all quit sledding and stay away from the EXTREME part of it, we gotta just use our heads and look out for one another.

its very heart breaking that these boys are from my town..RIP GUYS you will be missed by all of us sledheads

IT'S GETTING REALLY ANNOYING HAVING TO READ/HEAR ABOUT THIS KIND OF TRADGEDY EVERY WEEK THIS YEAR. WHEN ARE THESE GUYS GOING TO GROW UP. ALL YOU GUYS THAT SAY OH IT'S SAFE IF YOU BE CAREFUL, I KNOW WHT I AM DOING, IT WON'T HAPPEN TO ME DUMMY THE F UP. IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU, THESE GUYS WERE ALL EXPIERIENCED, HAD PROPER TRAINING AND RODE THE "SAFER AREAS" AT IT HAPPENED TO THEM. YOU ARE A BUNCH OF SELFISH LITTLE KIDS, IN MY OPINION, WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR FAMILY OR FRIENDS.:realmad:The mountains have been there for millions of years and i haven't heard of them having any plans to move in the near future. They will be there next year. Stay home with family and friends. Save your trip for next year. Don't go:nono: just try to put yourself in the position of having to try to dig a buddy out or not coming home to your family maybe that will change your mind. To all the guys who have changed your plans and posponed trips till next year happy sledding. To the families who lost loved ones my prayers go out for you. And for all those still planning to go my prayers go out to your families.
just my :twocents:

We consider the risks everytime we go up there, not just this year, you're comments make it sound like we are just ignoring the dangers this last couple weeks, and if we just wait till next year, then we'll all be okay. the risk is there each and every time you ride up there, every year.

For the record, we are not stopping sled'n for the year. The hill will be closed to day due to 2 helei's that will be back and forth from the avy to cabin, to dangerous and some blasting if we feel we need to. Blasting was done yesterday but in case we need to do more, don;t need a bunch of people buzzing about.
This avy and death's was in a place that most almost all of you would never be in. While waiting for the blaster's to arive we did a complete tour of Renshaw and there were so many safe places to be, yes some of the big ones have yet to come down and this one is not even on the radar to look at.
I could sugar coat it but NO, if we have to call in blaster's just to make it safe enough for us to go find the bodies that in it self should tell you how bad the terrain is. Off to recover 2 fellow sledder's and NOT enjoying the last 5 days at all.

thank you barry, this is the point i'm trying to make too, we need people to be informed before they make broad brush statments about the dangers of mountain snowmobiling

First my condolences to the family and friends of the two sledders who lost their lives in McBride, yet another tragedy.
I promised my children a trip to the mountains this year but dad is gonna break his promise. I asked my wife what she thinks if I go again this winter, I did not get an answer. A few of the guys I ride with came down and we went for wings last night and we discussed what we would do if there was a fatality in our group. It was hard to imagine one of us gone, I truly feel for anyone who actually has to deal with the loss. I said they don't have to risk their lives to recover me once its to late but they all better have a snowball in their pockets to paste me one last time before any dirt falls on my box. They may ride yet this year but I think I am done. Going to the farm to ride this weekend, weiner roast in the valley and just enjoy life. Play crib till midnight and plan the summer trips and family get together at Long Lake in July, don't want to tempt fate.
