Ok thinking about installing a turbo on my RMK pro but i just learned that i can't get liability insurance for the sled then.

Has anyone figured out a way around this? buy insurance in Alberta, BC or something?

I don't want massive power i just want my hp at elevation.

Not looking for accident or theft insurance just liability in case i run over someone or something accidentally.

I mostly run my pro in Alberta/BC and would not ride it in Sask if that was part of the solution.

Can i buy some sort of blanket liability insurance?

have my boosted sled insursed through oasis/prestige. You do pay for it..my machine is insured with a reasonable amount of liability and a $12K replacement value for theft/damage and I'm paying over $700/yr. Can't recall deductable. Try Highway Agencies in S'toon. They did mine and should be familiar.

Its the collision part that costs a fortune and if you ever have a claim you'll never get coverage again....they won't take you on.

Full coverage for $920 @ $20,000 . I had snopro 500 stolen out of my trailer last year, they renewed my policy this year.

Ouch, that sucks..all this insurance is usually good until you have to use it. Had a fire in a 600 SDI a few years ago where the brake caliper seized. Caught it in time, only did about $1400 damage. Fought with these guys for quite a while to get our money out of them. At this time, we couldn't get a real live inspector to come look. Had to send pictures to someone in Ontario I think and went back and forth. They finally did pay, but it made me wonder how difficult a full write off would be.

I've seen what you can do with a sled...premium plus deductable can buy a lot of parts and when you can wrench you can fix a lot of stuff for $2-3g. We plate here for trail access and liability....I buy ins for theft and fire....no boost more though.

Hey Guys, I own a brokerage here in Saskatchewan however we do business in BC, Alberta, NWT and Nunavut. We use Oasis Open Skies for our insurance on boosted sleds, I myself own a tM8 and ran without coverage last year as SGI will not take you on, and I couldn't attain it through any of our Alberta personal markets. Open Skies as stated is good but like every other kind of insurance once a few claims come into the mix then rates rise. If anyone wants to know costs I have the rate manuals in front of me and can supply anyone quotes.

You have to be able to fix minor damage to make most all insurance worth while, and keep premiums down. In my opinion there isn't much sense claiming a bent a arm like we have seen so many times through SGI, the insurance company's just eat those ones up because is costs nothing and then they can jack your premiums. I keep just fire & theft & liability on my sled because I have 28k into it, and I am only concerned about theft/fire, or items that are beyond my control.

I just wrote a sled off and it wasnt insured, hit a rock and pushed the bulkhead back lol but now that that happened i had to spend $20k to rebuild it and figured id throw a turbo on it. I love how criminal insurance companies can be once they start getting claims. So im not sure how to approach it. I was going to get full coverage for about $20k replacement, even if i use it once and they dont insure me again would be worth saving $19,000.... And i say criminal because if you cant get coverage again for a legit accident/write off, how are you suppose to explain that to the mounties asking for your Insurance and registration? "umm officer i cant get insurance because they dont like to insure high valued sleds like mine" Bunch of horse ch!t if you ask me. IMO

I sure hope they dont cancel it! Mine's in right now, got adjusted a few weeks back and should be done mid to late november....so I guess I'll know then whether or not its still gonna be covered. Sure hope it is, i've got more money into that sled than I have in my truck.
