Turbo Nytro clutch service/maintenance

I just bought a 2008 turbo Nytro with a 270hp mcxpress kit. I know nearly nothing about these clutches. Wondering if anyone has the maintenance schedule for this sled and or what inspection I should be doing to make sure that I am good to go for the season as far as the clutch is concerned. I have looked online and have found nothing so far. Also should a guy be lubricating the rollers and ramps at all to prolong the life of the clutch parts? Thanks

No lube required, disassemble the secondary and clean with brake clean (remember where the secondary spring was set, and it will have a lot of tension on it so be careful ) I replace my secondary buttons every year. Check the primary rollers for movement, I clean the roller shafts at least once a season, inspect weight bushing and clean weight pins, remove spring cover and check spring ( I replace springs about every 1500kms they are cheap ), the cover has an "x" marking, make sure to line it up when reassembling. Yamah clutch wear really well so keep them clean and they last forever.

Brake clean is great for cleaning clutches but don't get any on the inner sheaves. It's an enemy for belts. Clean the sheave faces with soapy water and a scotch brite pad. Give them a good scrub until you get a nice cross hatch on the faces.

When it comes to clutches the Yamaha clutches are one of the most durable and best performing in the industry, basically unchanged from previous yrs they are an awsome clutch.
The biggest thing on any clutch system is keeping it CLEAN by the use of compressed air. avoid strong cleaners, ie. brake and carb. cleaners as they CAN effect plastics and bushings used in the system thus reducing longevity of the clutch life.
Cleaning with compressed air and checking movable components for unusual play and wear is basicaly all is needed. Yamaha clutch springs are very good and generaly last for many seasons, the biggest wear factor on the these clutches is the secondary buttons. Any flat spot exceeding 1/8" replace all of them.

On the Nytro the clutch noise is excessive and VERY annoying, there is little one can do about this as it is NORMAL harmanics caused by the engine 3cyl. design and PTO stub shaft. Some Nytro's are worst then others, this noise is not found on the Apex model. BTW changing the Nytro clutch for Apex clutch will not fix noise as they are the same clutches and it is NOT a clutch issue but engine design issue.

BTW....NEVER LUBE a CVT clutch system used on any snowmobile as this will cause performance issue and premature wear to clutch failure.
