i have aftermarket HID ligts on My truck as well as the companey truck i someties take. sure when the roads are chitty and everyone els's head lights are dirty the HID for sure are brighter. i have never had any issue wiht anyone getting mad at me. Got mine installed at Dodge and never had any issues.

with lifted trucks, you cannot really adjust your lights to work properly. if a truck has an 8inch lift no matter what your driving the lights are in your back windown or morrors. in order for the lights to work properly.

i will say tho. if your not going to pass then BACK THE F OFF!! that is annoying as he!!
we had that from golden one time, my buddy and i were doing like 120 from golden and we had some guy in a dodge with two sleds on the deck truck was lifted but one that the back end sages down, so low meams and driving lignts on. we finally let him pass then rode his a$$ with our high beams on jsut to prove a point. just be nice and BACK OFF!!

Headlights are probably correctly aimed - typically what happens is the guy driving the truck has no fuggin' clue about trailer axle weight or tongue weight. Lifted truck changes the suspension geometry and how the angles are affected. Too much tongue weight in the trailer and all of a sudden the headlights are aimed at the sky.....

At least 5 times a trip, I see some d-bag with a jacked up truck, front axle barely on the pavement (not sure how he can steer correctly), and rear bumper is dragging on the ground like a low rider because they didn't put in another leaf/air bags, or bother to adjust trailer/tongue weight. Most people out there don't have a clue.

The fuggers that I hate the most are the ones that drive ALL THE TIME with the fog lights on, especially when THERE IS NO FOG!!!! Nothing pisses me off more than being blinded up close by someones fog lights.

fog lights pizz me off too. it should be illegal to drive with them on unless weather calls for it.

it is illegal to drive with fog lights on when the weather calls for it .... but cops do not enforce it

Its funny, even the cheapest $hitbox rental car in Eurpoe has headlight adjustment in the cab (I guess because a 5lb suitcase in the trunk changes the angle). Why in the hell can't they put them in vehicles here? Frickin $10,000.00 Opal I rented last summer had them(Made by GM).

Often wondered the same thing. My 3500 Fargo with overload springs changes angle when you put a small load in it.My headlight adjusting screws are almost wore out!

Yea a lot of the newer cars are just as bad, or the idiots who leave their high beams on. My worst gripe is the idiots who flash you because they think your high beams are on

My truck is lifted and my lights are adjusted, nor as far down as stock because I can see better the way I have it.

Uhh, let me see you call people idiots because they flash you because they are being blinded by your lights. In the next sentence you say you have a lift and don't have the lights adjusted properly?

Definately a pet peive of mine, I absolutely hate it when people insist on driving with their fog lights on when it is clear out! On my old truck I had my fog lights pointed up and left just to turn on when people would be coming at me with their fog lights on, It is annoying as he!! and unnecessary!

I'm guilty and have been guilty going on my second winter! But the air bags have been installed and all is good.

The one thing that I will add, and you guys can climb all over me if you so wish, is that I want to see the road, shoulder, ditch, and tree line! In the Elk Valley we have a large number of deer, elk, and moose on highway #3 and particularly on #43. I have bright lights and I use my all my lights, period! Saying that I doo try to be curtious when coming up on someone or meeting someone.

I just need to vent a little on the trucks with lift kits. I don't mind if they have them but they should finish the job before they take them on the rode. Today coming from the golden area a truck possibly a ford pulling a black trailer that was being followed by a h3 hummer pulling a black trailer also. rode my a** going through field his head lights and the driving lights were right in my mirrors as they were the same height as my truck and I was driving a 3500 dodge. Just comon curtisty when these guys trick their trucks up that they finish the jobs. GET A HEAD LIGHT AND DRIVING LIGHT ADJUSTMENT. Other than that they look good when done properly.

i have a F350 deisel with a 8 inch lift i got my lights done now it sencers if i am close to a vehical and automatically dims them down for me but i have had that problem when i am driving my Mustang Gt that is low to the ground

LOL - you noticed that too huh?? He's pissed at the fact that people high beam him because his lift kit puts his lights directly in their eyes, but then says he doesn't care because he likes it better the way he has it. Obviously his lights are not aimed correctly because people keep flashing him, and he doesn't really care. I think this is part of the problem we are talking about?

Sorry Cyle - not trying to cause ruffled feathers (no offense intended) but I have a hard time with this since in past threads you have ripped on people for not following towing regs, then you come on here and say screw the regs (in regards to lighting) and oncoming traffic, I can see better the way I have it. That's hypocritical. You can't ask others to follow one set of rules while you disregard another.

My area is a deer haven we have a few local creeks that are well traveled by wildlife. i have HID's so i dont tag anything. and for those who dont own HID's. simply try some you'll immediatly be on the bandwagon. I've been driving through fog with 2 cars in front of me and the only reason they knew where the road was - was because of my lights. Yes i'll admit they are bright but they also make thing much safer.

Yep, because I got flashed while stock all the time, I get flashed all the time in my dads stock 07 to. People are just stupid and don't know they aren't brights. It is just people in low cars that do it. Not my fault they are riding on the ground. Mine are adjusted a tiny bit higher because I can see better, they don't flash people bad I know that for a fact, and my rear end doesn't sag with a load to change it. Getting flashed doesn't really bother me it just shows how dumb the person is that they can't tell the difference, I am only weeks away from having 7 driving lights on a switch, flash away! :d

Where is there a law on how your headlights should be adjusted? Mine are adjusted to see the road the best.

And people with a gripe on fogs, I use mine like my high beams because they light up the ditches much better, off on a 2 lane when meeting traffic or coming up behind people. I see no problem with it and don't care if people think they are for "fog only". Also commonly called running lights for a reason

the lights on my car are always aiming into oncoming traffic because its from japan and is rhd. dont know how they passed  and when i had my driving light switch put in. because for some reason that didnt pass and the lights did  the idiots set it so its always on high beams  o well though, it saved me $1500 for new lights. rather pay 50 bucks for driving lights than 1500 for headlights:d

if u wanted to get down to the nitty gritty then yes u can get pulled over and fined or towed for "improper" lighting. not that it happens alot buy u have to meet lightning requirments. there are measurements to aim ur lights properly. not sure how it applies wit a heavy load tho. u cant just aim ur lights wherever u want and drive around causing saftey concerns. they could be flashing cuz of the fog lights. i know dodges have bright fogs.

The white lights on newer cars and truck normally mounted in the bumper are DRIVING lights. FOG lights are YELLOW!

Haven't seen that many fog lights in years. Usually driving lights and they are getting brighter. Most vehicles they can be turned off when approaching traffic, people choose not too. Some vehicles like the wifes Windstar they cannot be turned off, luckily they are so dim they are useless.

I think the rules are that if the top of your low beams shine above the cop's belt at 50ft or something, they are too high.
