Truck is ready for winter!

Well I just got the truck all done for winter. I got old 20" f350 rims from Kijiji and Plasti-dipped them black. Got 305/55/20 Goodyear Duratracs studded, kickback mudflaps oil pan heater and rear wheel well liners. Must say I'm loving these tires on the snow & ice!

$20 a can. I did a lot of coats, like 6 so I used 4 cans.

thanks, they are retrofit solutions 55watt hid kits and are easily 3x brighter than stock.

Looks good! Just enough black and shiny stuff. Good mix. Too much of either is kinda gawdy.

Speaking of that, might try that Plasti dip on some of my grill this summer.

How does that plasti-dip hold up? Never heard of it before. Where do you get it? Would it be worth putting a clear coat on to protect better or is it durable? Looks good.

its a rubberized coating that is very durable but can be peeled off with your fingers. I had the pressure washer up against it and it won't peel. Also resistant to chemicals and yes road salt. Bought it at home hardware but think even crappy tire sells it. I used their clear coat also for the shiny look. Very happy with the stuff. Youtube it.

no masking needed, just peeled off the tire with fingers. You know like when u get a new credit card that glue that holds it to the statement? You rub/roll it off. So simple. Also, no sanding or prep work of anykind! Just make sure it's well cleaned and there's no grease or oils.

Go to Dip Effects at 17393 108 Ave. Best selection of colours and lots of stock. I used 3 cans on a set of 18"s for the wifes car, and that was about 3 to 4 coats each.

I did my stock wheels. I didn't mask anything. Made sure to get lots of overlap over the rim edge on the tire, drove down the road and the overspray peeled right off the tire on its own but stuck to the rim edge. Just peeled it away from the rim perfectly. I may do my entire truck!
