And I haven’t seen freezing rain once lol

The Cooper ATW I would try out after seeing them on my buddies Duramax for a couple of seasons. I have always been skeptical of Cooper but he has gotten great life from them and they hold the road well.

I had the opposite experience with the Cooper. Both ATW and M&S studded. 20,000km on both, and they were both pretty much gone. This is on a 3500 Ram with a decent load half the time.

I had a set of Cooper XT4 (same as Ukrainian Wheel ATW) on my last half ton and I wasn't impressed at all. They didn't do anything well, at all. I thought they'd be better on ice, but they weren't. Replaced them with a set of BFG KO2's and they were far better on ice than the XT4 Coopers. Not to mention I didn't get very good wear out of them. Wore out quickly and I was hardly ever loaded down. My tire guy won't sell them to anyone anymore. He had 2 other customers that had the same issues.

The XT4 is not the same tire as the ATW. Different compound, different tread wear life, different pattern.

I have run KO2’s on our work trucks. Those things were designed to look nice on the shelf of your local Jeep dealer and that’s about it. One of the worst cupping, uneven wearing and sketchy on ice I have experienced.

Speaking of our work trucks, we have experimented a lot with different AT tires the last 5 years trying to find something that lasts for a 24/7 operation on harsh concrete surfaces that wear out tires fast and surprisingly the Kumho AT51 has been the best all around tire. They don’t have a lot of larger 20” sizes so I doubt I would have them on my personal truck but if someone is looking for a tire that wears well and still has decent winter traction these Kumhos are great.

I either had some kind of supreme, awesome beyond belief KO2's or something else is wrong. They were 275/60R20 8ply on a Ram 1500 and I had no problems in the winter. I've had dedicated winters that weren't any better than that. As far as wear goes, I rotated them every oil change. They were Road Force balanced off the start (which I believe is the number one issue people run into, is tires that aren't balanced properly off the start) and when I traded the truck off, I had 30 + K on them and they still had well over 50% tread wear left and worn completely even. My only beef with those tires is they throw rocks like a mofo. Other than that, I'd buy another set again in a heartbeat when my new 3/4 ton needs tires.

When I had my duramax I ran the KO2's as well, but they were sipped. I thought they were a fantastic tire.
I am now running just a 1500 and went with Toyo GSi5, wow, are they ever a great winter tire. Up until yesterday when the temperature dropped, I had driven all winter with some weight in the back and in 2WD. I have it in 4auto now just to be safe.

They are a nice light/SUV tires. My gf likes them because she gets to say her tires have nuts. Lol

All Tire’s suck after the first 50 % IMO
Winters are even worse once they wear down to 50% compared to new .

Just put another set of ko2 on the 2500 today, and a set of the Toyo wlt winters on the 1500. Still have t found something that is a better middle ground than the ko2 for off-road/snow/hot pavement. It’s not the best at any of them, but pretty good at all of them, and still got 70k out o the last set even with towing 10k lbs. as far as the wlt goes, excellent full winters, wear really well on a halfer at least, but not the best when the snow is deep deep. Once the diff is dragging they still struggle. Perfect for my wife to commute on tho, she’s hard on the pedals. Both of them. I had the cooper atw on our Yukon, they didn’t suck, kinda like a 3/4 winter tire, but they wandered on dry pavement.
