Are you saying there has been a second derailment in the area or are you talking about the one from a day or two ago?

been all over the news the last few days. 13 cars derailed, 9 crude and 4 LPG. 3 cars ruptured and have been burning since the crash

The fire department lit the rest of the cars on fire today saying it was the safest way to get rid of the remaining fuel and allow residents to return home.

But the derailment originally occured saturday morning at 1:00am with an explosion occuring at that time, as well as another occuring at 9:00am saturday morning.

Just before you enter Gainford. It's close enough to town I heard its melting the siding off the first house on the right if you were going west

Had to detour around it on the way home yesterday but couldn't see anything, not even any smoke. I must have just made it through Friday night on my way to Edmonton.

Yup they blew up the remaining cars last night about 7 I live about 10 miles away and you could see the flames over the trees and felt the blast.
My taxidermist lives in the house across the highway from the crash said her curtains are melted to the windows. Must have got hot pretty fast.
Will be neat to hear what caused it as that is all new track in that area as well.

It's CN, they will blame it on their workers and fire a couple then sweep the rest under the rug.

Why would they burn the rest of those tanker cars? If the relief valves are not working they can potentially bleve.

But what else would they do?I wouldn't be the guy getting close to those cars after being involved in a derailment and then a fire. I think its more of a danger to attempt to move a damaged car away then to just ignite a fire a let it burn/explode in an area already evacuated of people where a spill has already occured, might as well keep it as contained as possible.

That's not just a CN dirty trick, most large companies play ball like that! It's easiest to blame the employee on a PR view because then you can get rid of him/her and problem solved.

I doubt they are smashing off a relief valve than tossing flares at it. Probably have a safe way to do it.
