As a kid we had a 7500 blizzard it would go 105mph. That's when I was 10-12 years old no helmet! Funny I made it to be an adult

!980 Polaris Centurion Stock indicated over 100 MPH on Red Deer Lake. Took the hood of to adjust the toe in trying to squeeze a little more out her then did a pass with the hood off dam thing nearly came over backwards. The hood balanced the lift created by the pan on those old sleds.

So how many of you guys are going through belts? I think high speeds for extended periods kill belts. Just wondering if you guys found the same?

I rarely hold it WFO on the flats, was testing clutching/gearing combinations when I took that pic. couldn't go 60 miles on my sled without blowing a belt at any speed when it was new.

I would agree that long top speed pulls are hard on belts. Blown at least 3 belts at 140 to 160 Kph...scares the crap outaya and makes a frikken mess...under the hood and in the pants. I think I'm getting to old for that now, but you never know

175 km/hr on my turboed rx1 across the lake, it may have had a bit more but I chickened out, that sled was heavy but at that speed it felt like a feather. I used to drive along hwy 2 passing cars in the ditch like they were standing still until the next approach came ha ha.

i drive wide open with my 163 all the time in sask. on the lake, in the ditch. track and belts and quick drive belt are fine after 2 years.

my 155 08 700 had 5000 miles on it, only blew one belt at 2500 miles, track looked brand new when i sold it. drove that one the same, to the bar on the lake and in the ditches.......

2014 pro does about 85 mph
2008 700 did about 89 mph

back in the day my 2000 xc 700 seen 120 ish mph on the lake, super hard packed trail and about -25. took a while to get up there, barely seen 100 with a bit of snow and that .88" lug track and some warmer temps

It is funny. Anytime I have seen a blown belt is when someone was wide open. Maybe only for ten-20 seconds. Might just be a coincidence.

Thinking of blown belts, there sure are a lot of pieces on the groomed trails just before coming down to the staging area. As a grooming operator, thats where most of the pieces lay. Seems like guys ride all day and ride harder and faster back to the trucks........just a little thing I have noticed.

The speedo is never on the display, so have no idea on speed. However the last time I did a history check, the highest registered speed was 68 mph.
