My wife makes great ones as well Randy. Some sour cream and bacon bits on top make them amazing
Never thought of putting sour cream on top, will try that. I do cut up bacon into small pieces and put them in the mixture.

Do you make the small Ukrainian style with sweet cabbage leaves or do you make the large German style with hamburger meat and rice filling?

1/2 pork, 1/2 beef(or deer or elk) hamburger, rice, small pieces of bacon. Meat is browned, bacon almost cook, rice almost cooked. I use 1/2 can of tomato sauce in the mixture and the rest of the sauce spread on the pan, and today I used homemade pizza sauce over the top of them. 2 hours in the oven. Sweet paprika , salt and pepper for the spices. All the grease from the meat and the bacon is not added.

Much the same as my better half’s recipe except she only uses beef for the meat

Mom also makes beet rolls. Same are her Ukrainian style cabbage rolls but instead of cabbage she uses beet leaves. Mmmm I’m making myself hungry, can’t wait for Christmas at mom’s
