This is a small wire style retainer

I will say it is like a couple loops of a slinky. Flat with no holes for special pliers or expanders. Part #29 in the fiche below.

There has to be a trick?
Been there ferniesnow, last time I did one on my xp, no matter how carefully u pressed the inner sheave bushing in with out the special tool, it doesn't sit far enough down to get that snap ring in


I just use a pic and little flat blade to remove and install

Oh and I am just about to do the same thing, but going to get H2O to press out and in for me



Sounds like I'm getting a free top end, and mabe a engine if the crank is out enough, if not mabe crank before next November when warranty is up

Have 5150 km on mine, he said better at least top end it before it sh!t's the bed

I just use a pic and little flat blade to remove and install

Got it. Used a piece of wood to tap out the old bushing after I took out the circlip. Sure easier taking it out than putting it back in. Slowly tapped in the new bushing with another custom piece of wood and then the fun with the new circlip. Leading edge started and then a small flat bladed screwdriver to work the flat part of the clip around the groove. The second time around would be a lot easier but then again, I would forget how I did it by this time next year. Now for the pucks, o-rings, rollers, and bushings. Should be good to go tomorrow.
