I tried to rent a metal detector yesterday but it was already rented out. I need to find a survey pin for the corner of my property.

I met a buddy for lunch at A&W and he told me that you can "witch" for metal just like you can witch for water only you need to use a couple of welding rods. I can "witch" water with the two willow branches. So we went to his place and he got his ready made rods out (they are cleaned off and have a 3" bend in them for you to hold on to. He threw down a wheel spinner in the driveway and sure enough those silly rods crossed right above the spinner. So home I go only to find that with the survey pin in the ground ( I have a few of them showing around my property) they don't work. I was thinking it must have something to do with the heavy galvanization on the survey pin. Anybody got any ideas as to why it wouldn't work on a survey pin?

Story time...

Heard a sxs comin down the road yesterday and turn in our old rail trail and stop, so we go over there in our sxs... Buddy must be out havin a leak but sees us and hops back in his rzr1000 and pins it :sketchy: well the trail is quite narrow and he hits a tree with back tire peeling the bark 3' up and folds the rear right trailing arm right proper. We roll up to him and hes shaken up pretty good, stuff all flew out of his rzr, 12v compressor hanging from a tree, sxs sitting sideways on the trail, flat tire, cracked plastic etc... I help him gather his sh!t and he thanks me and carrys on. He finally notices his unit is fkd and stops again. He says his aunt lives down the road, that he can straighten the part. Dude is wearing no shirt, tattoos up his neck... Made me wonder... Never know... Been watching local Facebook pages for news of stolen Rzr... Maybe hes legit?...???
